The Manchester United defender was in shock upon receiving notification from the English Football Association (FA) that he would not be included in the 26-player squad traveling to the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Speaking to talkSPORT , Maguire admitted he felt "extremely disappointed and let down" because he believed he was capable of playing a crucial role for England this summer. "I wish the team all the best," Maguire added.

While Maguire is ruled out, Tuchel is considering giving Levi Colwill a chance. The Chelsea center-back has just returned to action after a long-term injury. Colwill was sidelined for almost 10 months with a torn anterior cruciate ligament but has impressed in recent appearances.

The 23-year-old center-back has only made three appearances for Chelsea this season, but his positive performances against Liverpool and Man City are believed to be enough to convince Tuchel. If selected, Colwill will compete for a place with Ezri Konsa and Marc Guehi.

Conversely, Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to benefit from Ben White's knee injury, while Tino Livramento is not yet in top form. The official England squad will be announced on May 23rd.
