According to the provincial plan, in Phase I, from now until July 1st, the entire province will focus on organizing periodic health check-ups and occupational disease screenings for approximately 328,000 workers employed in agencies, units, and businesses throughout the province. The synchronized implementation from the outset demonstrates the province's strong determination to realize the goal of ensuring every citizen receives at least one periodic health check-up per year.
On May 25th, at the Muong Thanh Luxury Hotel in Quang Ninh, 130 hotel staff, employees, and workers received general health check-ups, consultations, and screenings for occupational diseases from doctors and medical staff of the Quang Ninh Center for Disease Control (CDC). The examination process was organized scientifically and efficiently while still ensuring all necessary professional steps were followed. Through the examinations, many cases showing abnormal health symptoms received timely advice, treatment guidance, and in-depth monitoring from the doctors.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Huy, an employee at Muong Thanh Luxury Quang Ninh, shared: "I am very pleased that I received a health check-up. Working in the service industry requires a high intensity and frequent contact with customers, so regular health check-ups give us more peace of mind at work. I am also very happy that the results show my health is stable."
Ms. Do Ngoc Huyen, Deputy Director of Muong Thanh Luxury Quang Ninh, said: "Service quality can only be guaranteed when employees have good health and stable morale. Businesses always consider caring for the health of their staff and employees as an important task. This year's province's policy of universal health check-ups is truly humane and meaningful, not only helping people access medical services earlier, but also raising awareness about proactively protecting their own health. For businesses operating in the service sector, healthy employees are the foundation for improving service quality and building a sustainable working environment."

Following the initial rollout for employees in agencies, units, and businesses, from July 1st, the entire province will continue to expand health check-ups to other target groups. Priority will be given to people with disabilities, war veterans, those with chronic diseases, people living in ethnic minority areas, mountainous regions, island communes, special zones, areas with difficult socio-economic conditions, and people aged 60 and above.

Dr. Doan Ngoc Thanh, Deputy Director of the Quang Ninh CDC, said: "The special feature of this year's program is not only the examination and detection of diseases, but also the building of a nationwide health data system. The data collected after screening is very important in managing non-communicable chronic diseases, occupational diseases, and monitoring the health of people by age group and geographical area. This is the foundation for the health sector to build a disease model specific to Quang Ninh, thereby advising the province on appropriate, effective, and practical healthcare strategies."
Organizing widespread health check-ups contributes to changing people's habits from a "only go to the doctor when sick" mentality to proactively checking and monitoring their health regularly. This is a key factor in reducing the burden of treatment, detecting dangerous diseases early, and improving the quality of life for the people.
Not only is it the largest-scale health check-up ever, the 2026 nationwide health check-up program also marks a significant shift in community healthcare thinking, from disease management to managing people's health throughout their lifecycle. With the synchronized involvement of the entire political system, the health sector, businesses, and localities, the goal of having more than 1.4 million people in Quang Ninh receive at least one annual health check-up is gradually becoming a reality.

Universal health check-ups are a humane policy, enabling Quang Ninh province to gradually build a modern, proactive preventive healthcare system that prioritizes the people. This is also an important foundation for improving the quality of the population and human resources, contributing to the rapid and sustainable socio-economic development in the new era.
