In just 15 short weeks, ChatGPT sparked doomsday predictions in the global job market , disruptededucation systems and attracted millions of users, from major banks to app developers.
Now ChatGPT-4 appears - this tool is even more powerful.

What is ChatGPT-4?
Like ChatGPT, ChatGPT-4 is the “generative pretraining transformer 4,” the fourth version of the software developed by OpenAI. It analyzes large amounts of information from across the internet to generate human-like text and provide users with detailed answers.
What is different about ChatGPT-4?
Anyone who has studied ChatGPT knows its limitations, such as giving inaccurate answers and showing bias. Some people have argued that the chatbot only reflects the input it receives.
OpenAI says it spent six months making the new software safer. It claims ChatGPT-4 is more accurate, creative, and collaborative than its predecessor ChatGPT-3.5, and is “40% more likely” to generate truthful responses.
Outstanding features of ChatGPT-4
One of the most notable new features of ChatGPT-4 is its ability to process not only words but also images as input, in a technology called “multimodality.” Users will be able to send photos along with text for ChatGPT-4 to process and discuss. Video input capabilities are also in development.
Limitations
Like its predecessor, ChatGPT-4 isn't too great at reasoning about current events, as it was trained on data from before 2021.
OpenAI said in a blog post that the latest version “still has many limitations from previous versions that we are addressing, such as social bias, illusions, and controversial comments.”
How to use ChatGPT-4?
Most people can still enjoy basic ChatGPT by signing up with OpenAI, although this superintelligence is limited to certain countries and territories around the world .
However, the latest version is currently only available to ChatGPT Plus subscribers for $20/month - as an API tool (a mechanism for two software to communicate with each other) for developers to integrate into their applications.
In the future, ChatGPT-4 may be integrated into Microsoft’s search engine, Bing. Currently, if you visit the Bing website and click the “chat” button at the top, you will likely be redirected to a page asking you to sign up for a waiting list, and access will be gradually rolled out to users.
Who is using ChatGPT-4?
Morgan Stanley is using ChatGPT-4 to organize wealth management data, and payments company Stripe is also testing the tool to see if it can help fight fraud.
Language learning app Duolingo is teaming up with ChatGPT-4 to explain mistakes and let users practice conversations.
What is after ChatGPT-4?
The software’s competitors are still growing. While Microsoft has pledged $10 billion to OpenAI, other tech companies are rushing to join the race.
Alphabet's Google is rolling out its own AI called Bard to testers, while a slew of startups are pursuing AI.
In China, Baidu is about to launch its Ernie bot, while Meituan, Alibaba and a host of smaller names are also joining the fray.
