Back to the green forest
At LGXM National Park, students visited the conservation area for rare wild animals that are being raised and rescued. They watched otters swimming happily in the water tank; witnessed the green peacock performing its beauty with its round tail spread out like a giant fan; heard the sound of jungle fowl crowing in the morning; took pictures of colorful pheasants... Sometimes, they enjoyed observing the wild porcupines with sharp fur and were thrilled when standing near the cages holding giant pythons and crocodiles. In addition, they also watched pig-tailed monkeys and langurs chattering back and forth in the cage.
In addition, the children were told about the reasons why wild animals must be rescued and when they can be released back into the green forest environment to live freely. At the end of the tour, the children participated in the game of deciphering ecological codes from rescued animals. Through this, they were able to expand their understanding, systemize, and consolidate their knowledge about the forest environment, and understand the important meaning of protecting the environment for today and tomorrow.
Leaving the rare wildlife reserve, 120 members were taken by coach to Trang Ta Not, LGXM National Park. Here, they climbed up the 33m high watchtower. From this height, students were able to enjoy the panoramic view of Trang Ta Not from above, observing the LGXM National Park with its vast area and the green of the forest stretching as far as the eye could see. Next, they were able to hug the trunk of the over 200-year-old Ven Ven tree - one of two Vietnamese heritage trees in LGXM National Park, and visit the evergreen forest in the Da Ha stream area.
Along with that, the members of the group also participated in the game of finding shapes in conical hats to improve their understanding of ecological balance and the role of forests for all species; picking up dry leaves and tree bark to create pictures from nature as a gentle message of "living in harmony with the forest".
Raising awareness of environmental protection
After a day with his two children visiting LGXM National Park and experiencing all the outdoor activities, Mr. Do Minh Huan, a parent from Binh Duong province, shared that this is a new tourist destination, helping him, his children and students learn about the forest with many rare species of animals and plants. "After hard days at school, visiting here in the summer helps children have moments of relaxation and gain more useful knowledge," said Mr. Huan.
Nguyen Le Kha Tram, a 7th grader at IGC Tay Ninh Secondary School (formerly Tay Ninh City), confided: Although it was sunny and a bit tiring, I was very happy to visit LGXM National Park, the scenery here is very poetic. I like watching pheasants being raised at the Wildlife Rescue Center. Kha Tram confided: "This is the first time I have seen a bird with such beautiful colors." Nguyen Ha Bao Ngan, a student at Dinh Hoa Secondary School (formerly Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province), shared that when she came to LGXM National Park, she felt like she was immersed in nature, observing many new species of animals and plants with her own eyes. "Like otters, I have only seen them in cartoons before, but now I see them in real life, they are very cute. This is the first time I have come to LGXM National Park, if I have the chance, I will come back here," Bao Ngan said.
Mr. Pham Phu Thy, Director of Vietravel Company in Tay Ninh, Binh Duong (old), Binh Phuoc (old) and Dong Nai provinces, said that Vietravel has been implementing many meaningful corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. Following those activities, Vietravel organized a special CSR program this year with the theme "Keeping small lives - Keeping millions of greens". The program was built with the goal of raising awareness of the importance of protecting the environment, especially natural ecosystems and biodiversity. "We believe that every small action today will contribute to creating a greener, more sustainable future for future generations," Mr. Thy expressed.
According to Mr. Thy, conservation is not only about protecting trees, but also about protecting life, especially the fragile life of wild animals. That awareness needs to be cultivated early, from the young generation through emotions and experiences, not theory. Vietravel will continue to bring the journey "Preserving small lives - Preserving millions of greens" to other nature reserves across the country. Because each journey is an opportunity to accompany nature and preserve life together.
