On October 6, a delegation of leaders of Ho Chi Minh City led by Comrade Bui Thanh Nhan, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, visited, encouraged and supported people affected by storms and floods in Nghe An province.
Joining the delegation was Colonel Nguyen Dinh Chuan, Deputy Political Commissar of Ho Chi Minh City Command.
Welcoming the delegation were comrades: Colonel Dinh Bat Van, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command; Kha Van Tam, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation; Colonel Pham Dinh Trung, Deputy Political Commissar of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command and representatives of the Nghe An Provincial Department of Health.
On behalf of the working delegation, comrade Bui Thanh Nhan expressed his emotion when he was in Nghe An to visit and encourage people after the heavy losses caused by storms and floods.

Comrade Bui Thanh Nhan shared that during the days of storms and floods, from the South, the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City always followed every news and always looked towards the Central region, including Nghe An. The people of Ho Chi Minh City always looked towards the Central region, contributing to encourage people to steadfastly overcome challenges.
Responding to the call of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for donations and support for people affected by storms No. 10 and 11, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has launched a support movement, calling on people, agencies, organizations and businesses to join hands to help people in storm and flood areas. As of 4:00 p.m. on October 4, the City Relief Committee has received 1,543 donations with a total amount of more than 42.4 billion VND.

Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City Relief Committee has also disbursed 47.28 billion VND in support, of which 280 million VND supported 56 households affected by storms in Ho Chi Minh City and 47 billion VND was transferred to damaged provinces such as: Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Son La, Dien Bien , Hung Yen and Dong Thap.
At the same time, Ho Chi Minh City encourages cadres, civil servants, public employees, soldiers of the armed forces, and people receiving salaries from the state budget (working at the city level) to each contribute at least one day's salary.

Along with the funding, Ho Chi Minh City leaders have directed departments, branches, sectors and socio-political organizations to implement many practical and direct support activities in Nghe An province.
According to comrade Bui Thanh Nhan, this is the sentiment and heart of Ho Chi Minh City, hoping that the Party Committee, government and people of Nghe An province will soon overcome difficulties, quickly stabilize their lives and develop.
At the Nghe An Provincial Military Command, on behalf of the delegation, comrade Bui Thanh Nhan presented 7 billion VND in support from the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City to help Nghe An province people overcome the damage caused by storm No. 10.

On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City Command and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and Nghe An province also presented 1 billion VND in support to officers and soldiers whose families were affected by storm No. 10. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health presented medicine bags to the Nghe An Department of Health.


On the same day, the delegation went to Lam Thanh commune (Nghe An province) to provide house repair support to 10 households whose houses were severely damaged by storm No. 10 (30 million VND each) and a bag of household medicine.


The delegation also awarded 60 million VND in support to rebuild the completely collapsed house of Ms. Trinh Thi Xu, residing in Lam Thanh commune.
Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, Chairman of the Labor Federation of Nghe An province Kha Van Tam expressed his deep gratitude for the affection and attention of the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City for Nghe An.


Comrade Kha Van Tam also shared about the heavy damage caused by storm No. 10 to the people of Nghe An province right after storms No. 3 and No. 5. He affirmed that the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee will promptly transfer support resources to the people in the affected areas to soon stabilize their lives.
