On October 6th, a delegation of Ho Chi Minh City leaders, led by Comrade Bui Thanh Nhan, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor, visited, encouraged, and provided support to people affected by storms and floods in Nghe An province.
Joining the delegation was Colonel Nguyen Dinh Chuan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Ho Chi Minh City Command.
Welcoming the delegation were: Colonel Dinh Bat Van, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Commander of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command; Kha Van Tam, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An Province, Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor; Colonel Pham Dinh Trung, Deputy Political Commissar of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command, along with representatives from the Nghe An Provincial Department of Health.
On behalf of the delegation, Comrade Bui Thanh Nhan expressed his emotion at being in Nghe An to visit and encourage the people after the heavy losses caused by the storms and floods.

Comrade Bui Thanh Nhan shared that during the days of devastating storms and floods, from the South, the Party Committee, government, and people of Ho Chi Minh City always followed every news and felt deeply concerned for the beloved Central region, including Nghe An. The people of Ho Chi Minh City always looked towards the Central region, contributing their efforts to encourage the people to steadfastly overcome the challenges.
Responding to the call from the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for donations and support for people affected by typhoons No. 10 and 11, the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee launched a fundraising campaign, calling on people, agencies, organizations, and businesses to join hands in helping those affected by the storms and floods. As of 4 PM on October 4th, the City's Relief Committee had received 1,543 donations totaling over 42.4 billion VND.

Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City Relief Committee has disbursed 47.28 billion VND in aid, including 280 million VND to support 56 households affected by storms in Ho Chi Minh City and 47 billion VND transferred to affected provinces such as Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Son La, Dien Bien , Hung Yen, and Dong Thap.
At the same time, Ho Chi Minh City encourages officials, civil servants, public employees, soldiers of the armed forces, and those receiving salaries from the state budget (working at the city level) to each contribute at least one day's salary.

Along with funding, the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City have directed departments, agencies, and socio-political organizations to implement many practical and direct support activities in Nghe An province.
According to Comrade Bui Thanh Nhan, this is an expression of the sentiment and goodwill of Ho Chi Minh City, hoping that the Party Committee, government, and people of Nghe An province will soon overcome difficulties, quickly stabilize their lives, and develop.
At the Nghe An Provincial Military Command, on behalf of the delegation, Comrade Bui Thanh Nhan presented a donation of 7 billion VND from the Party Committee, government, and people of Ho Chi Minh City to support the people of Nghe An province in overcoming the damage caused by Typhoon No. 10.

On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City Command and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and Nghe An province also provided support to officers and soldiers whose families were affected by Typhoon No. 10, totaling 1 billion VND. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health provided medical kits to the Nghe An Provincial Department of Health.


On the same day, the delegation visited Lam Thanh commune (Nghe An province) to provide assistance for house repairs to 10 households whose homes were severely damaged by typhoon No. 10 (30 million VND per household) and a family medicine kit.


The delegation also provided 60 million VND in support for the reconstruction of the completely destroyed house of Ms. Trinh Thi Xu, residing in Lam Thanh commune.
Mr. Kha Van Tam, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province and Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor, expressed his deep gratitude for the affection and concern shown by the Party Committee, government, and people of Ho Chi Minh City towards Nghe An.


Comrade Kha Van Tam also shared about the severe damage caused by Typhoon No. 10 to the people of Nghe An province, following Typhoons No. 3 and No. 5. He affirmed that the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee would promptly transfer support resources to the affected people to help them stabilize their lives as soon as possible.
