The song "Come My Way" marks Son Tung M-TP's return after a long hiatus. The music video doesn't simply tell a love story through music , but also represents a journey of bringing Vietnamese identity to the world.

Notably, "Come My Way" truly became the center of attention when a scene of Son Tung standing on a mythical bird went viral on social media, dividing viewers into two opposing camps and sparking lively discussions.

One side argues that Son Tung's actions show disrespect for the culture, while the other believes that standing on the mythical Lac bird reflects the aspirations of young people to reach further.

Amidst the surrounding controversy, Son Tung officially spoke out on the online news site Hypebeast (founded in 2005 by Kevin Ma in Hong Kong).

'I will not lose myself'

According to Son Tung, preserving identity is not simply a creative choice, but also a professional principle.

"As long as I remember who I am and where I come from, I will never lose myself or my identity."

He believes the audience stays because they sense that authenticity. In Son Tung's view, public support comes from authenticity, not algorithms or marketing strategies.

In addition, Son Tung stated that the collaboration with rapper Tyga is the result of a long-standing relationship that has only truly materialized after numerous missed opportunities.

The male singer shared: "We've known each other for a long time, and I can't even remember how many times I've wanted to do something with him. Luckily, everything finally came together this year, and it truly feels like destiny."

What makes the song even more special lies in its cultural element. Tyga's Vietnamese roots have transformed "Come My Way" into a musical product with profound meaning.

"This isn't just a song. It's a meaningful opportunity for both of us to reconnect with our roots," said Son Tung. According to him, it is this similarity that makes the creative process natural and harmonious.

In terms of music, Son Tung frankly admits to being deeply influenced by Vietnamese folk music. Growing up surrounded by traditional melodies not only shaped his aesthetic taste but also directly impacted his singing style – from pronunciation and intonation to the emotion in his voice.

"The way I sing is heavily influenced by that. I think that's also one of the factors that sets me apart from other artists," Sơn Tùng said.

Notably, in the after-credits scene of the music video, Son Tung appears alongside an image of a white caterpillar. He reveals that this is the door that opens the next chapter he has prepared for his audience.
