6 teams compete in the 2025 International Police Volleyball Tournament

(NLDO) – Three guest teams from Southeast Asia and three Vietnamese teams will compete in the 2025 International Police Volleyball Tournament in Ho Chi Minh City.

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Forces' Traditional Day and the 20th anniversary of the National Security Day, the Ministry of Public Security , in coordination with the Vietnam Volleyball Federation and relevant agencies, organized the 2025 International Police Volleyball Tournament from August 26 to 30 at the National Defense Sports Center II Gymnasium (HCMC).

2025 International Police Volleyball Tournament has 6 participating teams

The tournament brings together 6 teams, including three host teams: People's Public Security (the core is the HCM City Police volleyball team), Army (represented by Tan Cang Sports Team), Hanoi (represented by Hanoi Club) and three guest teams: the Lao Ministry of Public Security team, the Cambodian Ministry of Interior team and the Indonesian Police team.

The teams will compete in a round robin in two groups, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals and the bottom two teams competing for 5th and 6th place. In addition to the collective prize (the top three teams will receive $10,000, $8,000, and $5,000), outstanding individual titles will also have their own prizes.

The organizing committee held a press conference to introduce the award in Ho Chi Minh City.

Along with the participation of many excellent athletes who have played or are playing for the Vietnamese national team such as Duong Van Tien, Quan Trong Nghia, Pham Quoc Du, Nguyen Van Quoc Duy, Dinh Van Tu, Che Quoc Vo Lit (CAND), Tu Thanh Thuan, Phan Cong Duc, Cao Duc Hoang (Army)..., the tournament regulations also allow teams to increase foreign players.

Therefore, the presence of Dutch player Ter Horst, 2.05 m tall, playing for the CAND team, or Henry Jose (Ministry of Interior of Cambodia), 2.12 m tall, will be the highlights of the tournament.

The 2025 International Police Volleyball Tournament is a sporting event of important political , cultural and foreign affairs significance, expected by experts and fans to become an annual activity with an increasingly expanding scale.

All aim to promote cultural and sports exchanges between police forces of different countries, creating opportunities to enhance understanding and international cooperation in maintaining security and social order, while demonstrating the image of dynamic and brave police officers in all aspects.

HCM City Police Volleyball Team will carry the People's Police name at the tournament.

In the role of professional support, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) said it will provide all the best equipment, from international standard mats to sound and lighting systems, video challenge eyes, professional statistics, etc.

The tournament organizers will open the tournament to the public and soldiers in the armed forces to cheer for the 11 matches. In addition, in addition to the opening and final matches broadcast live on VTV 9, the entire tournament will be broadcast to serve fans nationwide on the digital infrastructure of Vietnam Television.
