60 years of pride and aspiration

Education is the foundation of development, the key that opens the door to knowledge and human personality. Teaching, educating people, career guidance, nurturing aspirations, cultivating the soul and instilling the will of students are the goals that any educational environment strives for. Over the past sixty years, Ky Anh High School has fulfilled that noble mission and has constantly aspired to improve, training generations of students with good knowledge and rich personality, contributing high-quality human resources, contributing to the construction of the homeland and the country.

Building schools in difficult times

Turning the first pages of history, Ky Anh High School ( Ha Tinh ) was officially established on September 12, 1965 - in the midst of the fierce years of the war of destruction in the North caused by the American imperialists. Therefore, the construction of the school had to ensure both secrecy and camouflage, and had to have shelters and trenches. After many days of searching for a location, students were first gathered at Ky Thu but immediately after that had to move to Ky Giang.

On October 15, 1965, the first school drum sounded, marking a special historical event. In just 5 years (1965-1970), the school had to evacuate 5 times to 6 locations. Classrooms with thatched roofs, earthen walls, shelters next to desks and chairs, and lessons accompanied by sirens were deeply engraved in the memories of teachers and students. While teaching, they had to worry about moving, digging tunnels, and building shelters to ensure safety - it was truly a "school in the middle of the battlefield".

During those years, Mr. Le Van Khanh - Principal, the first party member of the school - along with 7 teachers and 135 students laid the first foundation in countless hardships. Despite being born in the midst of fire and bombs, the strong will and studious spirit of teachers and students of Ky Anh were still kindled and increasingly bright. Right in the first school year, Mr. Nguyen Tien Binh excelled and achieved the title of excellent student in Literature in the whole North.

The “Two Good” emulation movement became a typical example for the whole province. The “school workshop” and “school garden” models were effectively implemented for many years. In 1977, the school was honored to be reported as a typical example nationwide and was proposed to be replicated nationwide. While studying diligently and being ready for battle, hundreds of students of the school responded to the Fatherland, put down their pens and went to war. Many of them transformed into mountains and rivers, contributing to the shape of the country today.

After the country's reunification, stabilizing educational facilities became urgent. In 1977, the District Party Committee and People's Committee of Ky Anh District decided to choose Con Cum (Ky Hung Commune, now Song Tri Ward) as the official location of the school. At that time, Con Cum was just a desolate hill, full of bomb craters. Mr. Nguyen Trinh Thuyen - Principal of the school - along with the Facilities Committee and hundreds of teachers and students leveled the ground and rebuilt the classrooms.

Amidst the harsh sun and wind, the drops of sweat soaked the teachers and students' shirts, continuing to sow the seeds for a new journey of development. Since then, the school has gradually stabilized, expanded its scale, and grown strongly under the succession of many generations of teachers, students, and dedicated, responsible, and visionary captains such as Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Trinh Thuyen, Meritorious Teacher Tran Trung Dung, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Song, Mr. Tran Dac Thuoc, Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Thi Le Thuy, and now Mr. Tran Huu Linh and the school's Board of Directors.

Strive to adapt, integrate and develop

In recent years, in the face of changes in the country and the world , especially during the pandemic, the Party Executive Committee and the School Board have been flexible and innovative in their leadership, with many breakthrough solutions in curriculum development and teaching organization. Teachers and students have persevered in overcoming difficulties, turning challenges into motivation, maintaining teaching and learning routines, ensuring safety, and adapting flexibly to new circumstances.

Ky Anh High School has been recognized by the Party, the State and all levels and sectors with many noble awards: 3 times awarded the Labor Medal by the President (First, Second, Third Class); Emulation Flag, Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister; many times awarded the Emulation Flag and Certificate of Merit by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Provincial People's Committee. From 2007 to present, the school has been recognized as meeting national standards on educational quality assessment, continuously being an Excellent Labor Collective.

In particular, in response to the need for fundamental and comprehensive educational innovation, the school has given autonomy to professional groups. Teachers are constantly learning, creating, innovating methods, applying information technology, and digital transformation to meet the new general education program, helping students develop their abilities and qualities comprehensively. Emulation movements are actively implemented, creating motivation for teachers and students. Extracurricular activities, experiences, and life skills training are increasingly focused on.

Entering the 21st century, Ky Anh High School continues to grow in both scale and quality, taking on a new look and stature. From 2007 to present, the school has maintained 45 classes with nearly 2,000 students. In 2025, the total number of staff, teachers and employees is 102 (4 managers, 90 teachers, 8 employees), including 17 above-standard teachers, 4 provincial-level core teachers, 10 provincial-level excellent teachers and 2 Excellent Teachers.

Every year, the number of excellent students and students admitted to universities and colleges increases, helping Ky Anh High School always be in the top of non-specialized high schools in the province - a clear demonstration of the school's reputation and brand.

Celebrate the tradition of "poor land of studiousness"

Six decades is not just a milestone in time, but also an epic of creation and dedication. The school has become a “red address” of knowledge, where many generations of teachers have steadfastly woven the golden pages of tradition.

In particular, Ky Anh High School is proud to have three teachers who once held the important position of Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh: People's Teacher Le Duc Quy, PhD, Meritorious Teacher Tran Trung Dung and PhD Nguyen Thi Nguyet - proof of the tradition of inheritance and sustainable development.

Since the first graduating class, tens of thousands of students have grown up from this school. Many have become key officials in Party, State and business agencies; professors, doctors, engineers, teachers at home and abroad, contributing to the glory of the tradition of “poor land, studiousness”.

During the 60-year journey of construction and development, the school has always received the attention and guidance of all levels and sectors; the encouragement of the Party Committee, the government and the people; and the companionship of generations of teachers and former students. It is this connection that has forged a strong tradition: the previous generation builds and entrusts trust; the next generation inherits and develops, creating a source of knowledge that flows endlessly.

In the context of deep international integration, the Southern Ha Tinh region - with the Vung Ang Economic Zone - is becoming a key economic center, opening up many new opportunities and responsibilities for the school: opportunities for connection, career orientation, expanding cooperation; and the responsibility of improving people's knowledge, training high-quality human resources to serve the sustainable development of the homeland.

A new page of history is opening, Ky Anh High School continues to firmly adhere to the goal: building a "happy school"; students are active, proactive, and comprehensively developed; teachers are solid in expertise, bright in ethics, modern in thinking - with enough heart, vision, intelligence, virtue, and will.

60 years with many brilliant achievements - on the foundation of the tradition of studiousness, spirit of overcoming difficulties, flexibility and creativity - Ky Anh High School will continue to steadily reach new heights.
