On May 25th, the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health issued a document requesting hospitals and medical facilities in the Quy Nhon area to proactively admit, provide emergency care, and treat suspected cases of food poisoning related to bread from the Lam Huyen business (252 Hung Vuong Street, Quy Nhon Dong Ward, Gia Lai).

The Provincial Department of Health requires all units to focus human and material resources on treating patients, paying particular attention to cases of abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, the elderly, children, pregnant women, and those with underlying medical conditions. In cases exceeding their professional capacity, they must urgently consult with other healthcare facilities, safely transfer patients to higher-level facilities, and avoid delays in emergency care and treatment.
On the same day, the Gia Lai Provincial Food Safety and Hygiene Department issued a quick report on the suspected food poisoning incident caused by eating bread from the Lam Huyen business. According to the report, at 5 PM on May 22nd, Trung Nam Garment Company (Gia Lai province) ordered 28 mixed bread loaves and 18 bread loaves with sauce from the Lam Huyen establishment for its workers to eat during overtime.

By 11 PM that same day, 15 people exhibited symptoms of abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, and fever; of these, 12 were hospitalized, and 3 treated themselves at home. Additionally, the Lam Huyen establishment reported selling approximately 200 more mixed sandwiches to local residents on May 22nd.
As of 2 PM on May 25th, 75 cases of hospitalization due to eating bread from Lam Huyen bakery have been recorded. Of these, 46 cases are being treated at Gia Lai Provincial Central Hospital, 14 cases at Quy Nhon Medical Center, and the remainder are being treated at various hospitals and medical centers. Most patients are currently in stable condition, with significantly reduced symptoms, able to eat light meals, and responsive.
At the time of inspection, Lam Huyen's bakery had temporarily ceased operations. Verification revealed that many ingredients, such as pâté, butter egg sauce, and pickles, were prepared at home before being transported to the sales point. No samples of the food items used for business on May 22nd were available for investigation.

The Food Safety and Hygiene Sub-Department has now established an investigation team to coordinate epidemiological review, inspect food safety conditions, and further clarify the cause of the incident.
