Nine localities no longer have temporary or dilapidated houses.

(Chinhphu.vn) - The Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions - the Standing Agency of the Central Steering Committee for the implementation of the nationwide campaign to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses - reported that last week, three localities held ceremonies to announce the completion of their plans in response to the emulation movement to jointly eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses: Can Tho, Kien Giang, and Thai Nguyen.

As of April 26, 2025, the whole country has supported the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for 208,357 out of 315,000 households.

As of April 26th, six localities reported having eliminated temporary and dilapidated houses since the launch of the emulation movement; three localities have completed the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, including Bac Ninh , Thai Nguyen, and Can Tho. Thus, a total of nine localities have eliminated temporary and dilapidated houses in their areas.

Regarding the progress of implementation in the coming period:

Four localities have registered to complete the process by April 2025: Khanh Hoa , Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, and Vinh Long.

Six localities have registered to complete the process by May 2025.

Seventeen localities are expected to complete the project by June 2025.

Four localities have registered to complete the process by July 2025.

The remaining 23 localities registered to complete the process between August and October 2025.

Notably, Kien Giang province has completed the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households and is continuing to provide housing support for people who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution.

Regarding the implementation results:

According to updated figures from localities, as of April 26th, the whole country has supported the demolition of 208,357 out of 315,000 temporary and dilapidated houses that need to be demolished. Of these, 108,956 have been completed and put into use, while 99,401 are in the process of being started or constructed. Specifically:

Housing support for people who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution: 25,356 houses have been built, including 10,921 completed and 14,435 under construction.

Housing support under 2 national target programs: 59,054 units have been implemented, of which 39,224 have been completed and 19,810 are currently under construction.

Housing support under the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses: 123,947 houses have been completed, including 59,291 houses that have been finished and 64,656 houses that are under construction.

On April 23, 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh issued Decision No. 808/QD-TTg on the restructuring of the Central Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide. The Prime Minister serves as the Head of the Committee.

The Deputy Heads of the Steering Committee include: Comrade Do Van Chien, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Comrade Nguyen Hoa Binh, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister; and Comrade Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religion (Deputy Head and Permanent Member of the Steering Committee).

In addition, the Steering Committee has 13 members. The Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions is assigned by the Prime Minister as the permanent agency of the Steering Committee.
