As of April 26, 2025, the whole country has supported the elimination of 208,357/315,000 temporary and dilapidated houses.
As of April 26, 6 localities reported that there were no more temporary or dilapidated houses since the emulation movement was launched; 3 localities have completed the goal of eliminating temporary or dilapidated houses, including: Bac Ninh , Thai Nguyen and Can Tho. Thus, a total of 9 localities have no more temporary or dilapidated houses in the area.
About progress in the coming time:
4 localities registered to complete in April 2025, including: Khanh Hoa, Binh Phuoc , Tay Ninh, Vinh Long.
6 localities registered to complete in May 2025.
17 localities expected to complete in June 2025.
4 localities registered to complete in July 2025.
The remaining 23 localities will complete registration from August to October 2025.
Notably, Kien Giang province has completed the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households and is continuing to provide housing support for people with revolutionary contributions.
On implementation results:
According to updated data from localities, as of April 26, the whole country has supported the elimination of 208,357/315,000 temporary and dilapidated houses that need to be eliminated. Of these, 108,956 houses have been completed and put into use, while 99,401 houses are in the process of starting and building. Specifically:
Housing support for people with revolutionary contributions: 25,356 units have been built, including 10,921 completed units and 14,435 units under construction.
Housing support under 2 national target programs: 59,054 units have been implemented, of which 39,224 units have been completed and 19,810 units are under construction.
Housing support in the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses: 123,947 houses have been implemented, including 59,291 completed houses and 64,656 houses under construction.
On April 23, 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh issued Decision No. 808/QD-TTg on the establishment of the Central Steering Committee to implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide. The Prime Minister is the Head of the Committee.
Deputy Heads of the Steering Committee include: Comrade Do Van Chien, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Comrade Nguyen Hoa Binh, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister of the Government; Comrade Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions (Deputy Head and Permanent Member of the Steering Committee).
In addition, the Steering Committee has 13 members. The Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions is assigned by the Prime Minister to be the standing agency of the Steering Committee.
