Resolution No. 151, which announces the official list of candidates for the 16th National Assembly in each electoral district nationwide, has just been signed and issued by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man .
According to this resolution, there are 864 candidates running for the 16th National Assembly in 182 constituencies nationwide. 500 National Assembly representatives will be elected from among the 864 candidates on the official list.
Statistical data based on the official list of candidates for the National Assembly shows a total of 864 candidates, including 392 women (45.37%); 188 ethnic minority candidates (21.76%); and 65 non-Party members (7.52%).

Among the 864 candidates for the new National Assembly, 235 are re-elected (27.2%), 612 are first-time candidates (70.83%), and 17 are previous candidates (1.97%).
Regarding educational qualifications, 593 people had postgraduate degrees (68.63%); 261 candidates had university degrees (30.21%); and 10 people had degrees below university level (1.16%).
Regarding age structure, there are 187 young candidates for the National Assembly (under 40 years old); 384 candidates aged 40 to 50; 259 candidates aged 50 to 60; 26 candidates aged 60 to 65; and 8 candidates over 65 years old.
Of the 864 candidates for the 16th National Assembly, 217 were nominated by the Central Committee and 643 by local authorities. This time, there are 4 independent candidates for the 16th National Assembly.
The election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and representatives to People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term will be held on Sunday, March 15th. This is an important political event for the country, aiming to select outstanding representatives who will represent the will, aspirations, and right to self-governance of the people.
The election results are expected to be announced on March 22nd, and the first session of the 16th National Assembly will convene on April 6th to finalize personnel appointments and begin legislative work.
