Dong NaiThe contractor accelerated the progress of Long Thanh airport, along with the large construction area causing dust to spread, the investor has implemented many measures to limit it.
In a dispatch sent to the Joint Venture of Construction Contractors and Supervision Consultants on March 20, Vietnam Airlines Corporation (ACV - investor) requested to regulate the movement of vehicles, equipment and maintenance. Maintaining watering to suppress dust on public service roads at the construction site of Long Thanh airport project.
The move was made because in recent days, dust from Long Thanh airport has spread to residential areas and highways, affecting people's lives and vehicles. Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment have requested ACV to have a solution to limit dust dispersion outside the construction site.
According to ACV, dust has broken out strongly in recent days because the South is in the peak of the dry season, with strong winds, while component projects such as terminals, runways (total area of more than 2.500 hectares)... are being completed. speeding. In addition, the project site is very large, so tornadoes often form, spreading dust far away from the construction site.
To overcome the dust situation, the investor's Environmental Safety and Hygiene Team and the project construction contractor partnerships have 35 tank trucks watered regularly with a frequency of 5 times a day. At the same time, the supervisory force also requires vehicles to go on official roads and not cross vacant lots during construction activities.
For leveling surfaces that have been completed according to the design elevation, ACV requires the construction unit to immediately plant grass to maintain the soil surface and prevent dust for the slope areas, bare land and insurance strips. flight area. The goal by this year's rainy season will be to cover the above areas with grass, minimizing the amount of dust dispersed into the air.
Regarding the approved project's environmental impact assessment report, the anti-dust solution using Polymer spray was not applied by ACV. This investor explained that this technology is not yet popular in Vietnam, so it has not been considered for application. On the other hand, with a large area of up to thousands of hectares and many areas under construction of project infrastructure, applying the above technology requires a lot of costs.
The 5.000-hectare Long Thanh International Airport project has a total estimated investment of about 336.630 billion VND. Phase one, the airport will build a runway, passenger terminal and auxiliary items with a capacity of 25 million passengers per year, expected to be completed in 2026.
