Standing in front of the house that was recently built with support during the 2026 Tet holiday in My Duc commune, Ms. Bui Thanh Tuyen could not hide her joy. For several years, this woman had dreamed of having a home, and now, with the support from the local authorities, she is overjoyed because this Tet holiday she no longer has to worry about living in her old house. “I am grateful to the State, the local government, and the benefactors for giving me a new house. My family's circumstances are difficult; we barely have enough to eat. Now that I have a new house, I can feel secure and focus on improving my life,” Ms. Tuyen shared.

Besides Ms. Tuyen, during the 2026 Tet holiday for the military and civilians, My Duc commune will have 11 poor and near-poor households receiving support for solidarity housing. These houses, though simple, are sturdy enough to bring warmth to those facing hardship as the 2026 Lunar New Year approaches. The Secretary of the My Duc Commune Party Committee, Huynh Thi Hang, emphasized that the Tet holiday for the military and civilians is an opportunity for the armed forces and the local authorities to work together to care for the people, ensuring everyone can celebrate the New Year joyfully and warmly. Through concrete actions such as visiting, giving gifts, building houses for the poor, constructing bridges, cleaning the environment, and upgrading rural roads, the close bond between the military and the people in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland is demonstrated.
“With that spirit, the Steering Committee for the 2026 Tet (Lunar New Year) activities of the military and civilians in My Duc commune will mobilize the active participation of forces, sectors, organizations, and local people. The goal is to ensure that the Tet activities are not just periodic projects and tasks, but also leave a lasting impression through warm homes, sturdy bridges, and roads adorned with flags and flowers in the new year,” affirmed Ms. Huynh Thi Hang.
A highlight of the 2026 Tet celebration between the military and civilians in My Duc commune is the construction of the Ba Ngan bridge, which is progressing rapidly. This project, born from the concerted efforts of the local Party committee, government, and people, is expected to contribute to socio -economic development in the new year.
The military and the people are united.
Not only in My Duc, the spirit of the Tet (Lunar New Year) celebration between the military and civilians is spreading strongly throughout the hamlets and villages of Chau Phu commune. These days, Mr. Le Van Nhu, residing in Chanh Hung hamlet, Chau Phu commune, is delighted to see the vibrant activities of the 2026 Tet celebration between the military and civilians in his locality. Mr. Nhu shared: “Attending the Tet celebration send-off ceremony in Chau Phu commune, I am very excited to know that there will be many activities with practical significance for the people. I realize that the activities of the Tet celebration between the military and civilians have contributed to changing the face of the rural areas of the commune. The activities are even more meaningful when officials, people, and the armed forces participate together, building a more developed homeland.”
As someone directly involved in the 2026 Tet (Lunar New Year) activities between the military and civilians, Mr. Pham Van Minh, Assistant to the Military Command of Chau Phu Commune, felt very honored and proud to join hands with the people in carrying out meaningful projects and tasks. “With the support of the people, we have more motivation to complete the assigned tasks to the best of our ability. Each existing project has the contribution of the armed forces, demonstrating the pioneering spirit and willingness to overcome difficulties of the ‘soldiers of Uncle Ho.’ Seeing the joyful smiles of the people, we always promise ourselves to do even better in the next tasks,” Mr. Pham Van Minh emphasized.
According to Mr. Minh, what made him happiest was that this year's Tet (Lunar New Year) activities for the military and civilians helped build many houses for comrades, solidarity houses for veterans, policy beneficiary families, and poor households in the locality. With the positive impact of the 2026 Tet activities for the military and civilians, the Steering Committee for Tet activities in Chau Phu commune will focus on implementing activities with the highest effectiveness, contributing to changing the face of the locality in 2026 and the years to come.
