Amazon joins the AI race

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên17/04/2023

According to Reuters, Amazon's cloud computing division has just launched technology to help other companies develop their own chatbots and AI image creation services.

Microsoft and Alphabet are integrating AI chatbots into their products, but they're also eyeing another huge market — selling technology through the cloud.

As the world’s largest cloud computing provider, Amazon has taken a different approach to the AI race. AWS will offer a service called Bedrock that allows businesses to customize so-called platform models—the core AI technology that performs tasks like responding to text-based queries or generating images from prompts—using their own customer data to create a unique application. This approach is similar to that of OpenAI, which offers a service that lets customers create custom chatbots based on the models behind ChatGPT.

Amazon has not announced the cost of using Bedrock.

According to NBC, the Bedrock service will allow customers to work with the Amazon Titan model, which can help users generate text for blog posts, emails or other documents, and offer other models from startups AI21 Labs, Anthropic and Stability AI, which assist in search and personalization, turning text into images.

The Bedrock service allows customers to test these technologies without having to deal with the data center servers that power them. Amazon says the infrastructure that powers the Bedrock service will use a combination of Amazon's proprietary AI chips (AWS Trainium and AWS Inferentia) and Nvidia GPUs.

Bratin Saha - Vice President of AWS emphasized that the company is very concerned about accuracy and ensuring their Titan models produce high-quality feedback.

Customers can customize Titan models with their own data. But that data will never be used to train Titan models, ensuring other customers, including competitors, won't benefit from that data.
