On October 22, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and his Singaporean counterpart Ng Eng Hen co-chaired the sixth Defence Ministers' Dialogue between the two countries in New Delhi.

According to The Straits Times , at the conclusion of the dialogue, the Indian Ministry of Defence announced that both ministers acknowledged the deep and enduring bond in the defence relationship between the two countries, based on shared views on regional peace, stability, and security.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the increased defense cooperation between India and Singapore and highlighted the regular exchanges between the two armed forces over the years.
2025 will mark 60 years of diplomatic relations between India and Singapore, and both ministers agreed to enhance defense cooperation and achieve new milestones, including extending the bilateral agreement on joint military training for another five years.
Recognizing the partnership between the two countries in the development and production of defense equipment, India and Singapore have agreed to strengthen cooperation in this field, particularly in specialized areas such as automation and artificial intelligence.
In addition, the two ministers pledged to strengthen cooperation in emerging areas such as cybersecurity.
Following the meeting, Singapore's Minister of Defence affirmed that India is a country with a strategic voice for peace and stability in the Asian region, and Singapore values the bilateral relationship, which has been upgraded to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Singapore.
The dialogue took place at a crucial time as India celebrated a decade of its Act East policy, in which Singapore played a key role in fostering economic and cultural cooperation and strengthening strategic connectivity with neighboring countries, which are also important partners for New Delhi in its Indo-Pacific vision.
The relationship between India and Singapore is built on a foundation of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, with defense as a key pillar. Cooperation has diversified, encompassing military exchanges, training, bilateral exercises, and United Nations peacekeeping operations.
Singapore's Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen visited India from October 21-23, marking a significant step forward in defense cooperation between the two countries. The previous dialogue took place in January 2021 in an online format.
