With the goal of becoming a key driving force for sustainable development, An Giang is resolutely implementing key tasks in science and technology (S&T), innovation (ICT), digital transformation (DTS) and Project 06. An Giang attaches special importance to institutional improvement, considering it a core factor to create competitive advantages in the development of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation. The work of reviewing, supplementing and innovating the management mechanism of science and technology activities is carried out continuously, aiming to create the most favorable legal environment for these activities. The province puts people and businesses at the center of all policies, promotes the development of the innovative startup ecosystem, and encourages new ideas and initiatives. At the same time, the province also proactively builds digital transformation mechanisms and policies to ensure that people and businesses benefit from public services and social utilities in a more convenient, faster and more effective way.

Thereby, An Giang has achieved impressive achievements in building and developing digital infrastructure, creating a solid foundation for digital transformation. Currently, high-speed fiber optic Internet has covered 100% of commune, ward and town centers; broadband mobile Internet covers 100% of hamlets and villages, maximally meeting the needs of people for using services and searching for information. In particular, 100% of industrial parks, enterprises, schools and hospitals have Internet connections to serve management and operation, and 100% of state agencies in the province have local networks as well as Internet connections, specialized data transmission networks of Party and state agencies, ensuring smooth operations.

According to Director of the Department of Science and Technology Le Quoc Cuong, the province has promptly implemented propaganda activities, popularizing the policies and resolutions of the Central and the province, especially Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo and Resolution 03/NQ-CP of the Government. An Giang has concretized the legal documents and policies of the Central to suit the local situation, perfecting the legal corridor on science and technology of the province. Many encouraging results in the digital transformation of public services have brought clear benefits to people and businesses. Currently, there are over 1,200 full-process online public services deployed, helping people and businesses carry out administrative procedures anytime, anywhere. The rate of timely settlement of administrative procedures is over 99%, demonstrating the professionalism and efficiency of the administrative apparatus. Along with infrastructure development, the human resources of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation of An Giang have also been strongly enhanced in both quantity and quality. Currently, the province has 49 science and technology organizations, with 32,215 people with university degrees or higher (accounting for 85.41%).

In particular, the implementation of Project 06/CP in the province has achieved many positive results: Of the 18 common tasks with ministries and branches, 5 tasks have been completed and maintained for regular implementation, 9 tasks are being implemented and 4 tasks are being implemented regularly. Currently, An Giang is continuing to seriously and effectively implement 42 pilot models according to the coordination plan between the working group implementing Project 06/CP and the Provincial People's Committee. To date, 39/42 models have been deployed, of which 19/39 models have had specific products and results. A typical example is model 32: Information on criminal records on VNeID, which was connected and officially deployed on November 11, 2024. As of February 19, 2025, the whole province has received 5,318 applications for criminal records, of which 1,642 applications were received via the VNeID application, accounting for 30.87%. Or model 5: Deploying online public service provision on VNeID, connecting procedures for issuing criminal records from VNeID via the province's Public Service Portal, residence notification, vehicle registration, etc.

At the meeting of the Steering Committee on Science and Technology Development, Innovation, Digital Transformation, Administrative Reform and Project 06/CP of An Giang province, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung emphasized the need to focus on investing and developing science and technology, considering this a key driving force for the province's sustainable development. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested sectors and levels to increase the application of science and technology in production, focusing on the agricultural sector, because this not only helps optimize the production process, but also opens up many new opportunities for the province's agricultural products. At the same time, members of the Steering Committee, heads of departments and branches and People's Committees at all levels need to enhance their responsibility in implementing the policy of developing science and technology, innovation, digital transformation in the province. In addition, the Provincial People's Committee Office presides over and coordinates with relevant units to urgently advise the Chief of Staff of the Steering Committee to promulgate the Steering Committee's operating regulations and assign tasks to its members, as well as advise on handling proposals and recommendations related to the development of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation...
