An Giang: Losing money in the Coinet virtual stock trading scheme, fraudsters seize assets.

Following an expanded investigation into the "Fraudulent appropriation of property" case masterminded and led by Nguyen Hoang Phuc (born in 1999, residing in Long Xuyen ward, An Giang province), on December 20th, the Office of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the An Giang Provincial Police announced that it had issued a decision to prosecute and an arrest warrant for Truong Nhut Toi (born in 1981, residing in Long Xuyen ward, An Giang province) for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".

The Office of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the An Giang Provincial Police Department served the decisions and arrest warrants for temporary detention to Truong Nhut Toi.

During the investigation, it was determined that on May 14, 2025, Nguyen Hoang Phuc (a bank credit officer) gambled on the Coinet virtual stock exchange on social media, losing all 3.8 billion VND. Wanting to recoup his losses, Phuc forged a credit contract, asking Truong Nhut Toi to borrow 3 billion VND in his name.

Later, Phuc asked an acquaintance to introduce Mr. NDL (residing in Long Xuyen ward) to Toi for a loan. Believing the loan agreement was genuine, Mr. L. lent Toi 3 billion VND.

After receiving the money, Toi transferred it to Phuc's account, and Phuc then deposited the money into Coinet virtual trading accounts to gamble, ultimately losing it all.

The suspect is Nguyen Hoang Phuc.

On June 16, 2025, the Investigation Police Department of An Giang province issued a decision to initiate a criminal case and prosecute the suspect, and an arrest warrant to detain Nguyen Hoang Phuc for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".
