Speaking at the ceremony, Tran Thi Thanh Huong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province, said that in the past period, despite many difficulties and challenges, with the high determination of the entire political system and the joint efforts and solidarity of the people, including the very active participation of religions and ethnic groups, An Giang has achieved many outstanding results in various fields.

The province's economic growth in 2025 reached 8.39%, ranking first in the Mekong Delta region. In the first months of 2026, the province maintained its positive growth momentum and continued to be the leading province in the Mekong Delta region.
Every year, the Vietnam Buddhist Association of the province, along with monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers, mobilizes hundreds of billions of dong and contributes thousands of man-days of labor. They actively participate in charitable activities and social welfare programs, caring for the poor and vulnerable; building bridges and rural roads; constructing solidarity houses; eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses; supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds; providing community health care; and making positive contributions to building cultural life, preserving national identity, and maintaining political security, order, and social safety at the local level.

Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province, expressed her hope that the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of An Giang province would continue to strengthen unity and harmony within the organization; and at the same time, make thorough preparations to successfully organize the Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of An Giang province for the 2026-2031 term, ensuring continuity, stability and development, and meeting the requirements and tasks of the new period.
The Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association in the province needs to continue strengthening propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers to strictly adhere to the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws; pay attention to raising awareness and promptly combating and refuting false narratives that exploit ethnic and religious issues to divide the national unity.
