An Giang organizes the Grand Buddha's Birthday Celebration, Buddhist Calendar 2570 – Gregorian Calendar 2026

On May 31st, at Huynh Dao Pagoda (Vinh Te Ward), the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of An Giang Province organized the Great Buddha's Birthday Celebration for the Buddhist year 2570 – Gregorian year 2026.

Delegates, guests, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers attended the ceremony.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairperson of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Tran Thi Thanh Huong; Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Le Van Phuoc; and leaders of provincial departments, agencies, and localities attended the event.

Venerable Chau Ty, Vice Dharma Chief of the Council of Buddhist Elders of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, and Chairman of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in An Giang province; Venerable Thich Thien Thong, Vice Chairman of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, and Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in An Giang province; other Venerable members of the Council of Buddhist Elders and the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in An Giang province; and a large number of monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers attended.

At the ceremony, delegates read the Buddha's Birthday message for the year 2570 of the Buddhist calendar from the Venerable Grand Master of the Vietnam Buddhist Association, calling on all monks, nuns, and Buddhists to continue to uphold the spirit of patriotism, live virtuous lives, foster national unity, and build a more prosperous homeland.

Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, delivered a speech at the ceremony.

Through this, Comrade Tran Thi Thanh Huong expressed her hope that the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of An Giang province would pay attention to strengthening national unity. At the same time, she urged them to make thorough preparations and successfully organize the Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of An Giang province for the 2026-2031 term, ensuring continuity, stability, and development, meeting the requirements and tasks of the new period.
