Speaking at a joint press conference with EC President Ursula von der Leyen in Brussels, Magyar affirmed that this was a "historic day" for Hungary and that the funds provided by the EU would be used to rebuild the economy , improve public services, and support domestic businesses.

Of the aforementioned €16.4 billion, €4.4 billion comes from the EU's joint fund for the development of transport, health, social investment, the environment, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises. Approximately €2.2 billion is allocated to education , research, and innovation; €1.5 billion to grid development; and around €2 billion for the procurement of new trains, suburban trains, and trams.
According to Prime Minister Magyar, the Hungarian government will promote anti-corruption measures, strengthen the role of the Integrity Agency, and establish an Office for the Recovery and Protection of National Assets. He argued that corruption is the reason for the stagnation of EU funds for Hungary in recent times.
