Officially operating since 2013, the antique and secondhand market is considered a place for nostalgic trading and rediscovering memories of old Saigon. It's a favorite destination for many enthusiasts who enjoy exploring and collecting. At this market, you can choose from a wide variety of items such as: banknotes, coins, watches, telephones, antiques, unique vintage cars, and paintings. The market impresses with its spacious and airy atmosphere, reminiscent of the old town. This market attracts many collectors and antique enthusiasts because it offers a wide variety of rare items.
Join author Nguyen Ngoc Hai on a journey through the antique market in his photo album "Impressions of the Antique Market in the Heart of Saigon," to see firsthand this reputable place for people with a shared passion for antiques to connect and exchange items. They come here to buy and sell their favorites, with the value lying in the age and rarity of the item. This photo collection was submitted by the author to the Happy Vietnam Photo and Video Contest, organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications .
The market is located inside a cafe in an alley on No Trang Long Street. Weekly, the market runs from 6 AM to over 2 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. Entrance is 40,000 VND per person, but this can be exchanged for one food item or drink.
The antiques here are mostly acquired from the families of deceased collectors, Vietnamese expatriates abroad, or through referrals from regular customers.
Goods must be transparent regarding their origin, source, and price. If a seller intentionally misrepresents the product and is discovered, they will not be allowed to sell at subsequent markets.
Antique and vintage item enthusiasts in Saigon are present here almost every week. Some come to buy, sell, or trade, but many others simply come to enjoy a cup of coffee and admire the items.
