Every evening, the sound of engines from fishing boats, both familiar and unfamiliar, rises in the Ninh Chu sea area. Familiar because the sound of fishing boat engines is a daily occurrence in this region. Unfamiliar because the engines come from miniature boats with engines made from lawnmowers and hulls made of composite materials...

Le Thanh Tai (Ninh Chu 1 neighborhood, Khanh Hai town) said that because of their passion for technology, he and his friends formed a group to build mini fishing boats to fulfill their passion.

"Although they may look simple, these mini fishing boats cost over ten million dong. To build one, we have to save up; some of us work in the fishing industry, others do extra jobs to save up to buy equipment like lawnmowers, remote controls… and then build the boat," Tài said.

Besides the town of Khánh Hải, which has a fleet of 5 mini-boats, there's another group of about 10 boats in Vĩnh Hy Bay. They form groups and arrange to meet in the Ninh Chữ sea area to "show off their boats" and share their passion.

Driven by their passion, every evening the group gathers by the sea, excitedly watching the fishing boats they painstakingly built glide across the waves, moving like real fishing fleets.
