Ancelotti admits he could be sacked.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti revealed his thoughts on the future after Real Madrid were eliminated from the Champions League by Arsenal on the morning of April 17th.

Ancelotti is unlikely to remain at Real Madrid after this season.

"The club might decide to change coaches, maybe this year – or next year when my contract expires, it doesn't matter," Ancelotti told reporters after Real Madrid's 2-1 defeat to Arsenal in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.

"The day I leave this place, all I can do is thank the club (Real Madrid)," the Italian strategist said. "My departure from Real could happen tomorrow, in 10 days, a month, or a year, but the only thing I will do is thank this club – whether my contract is still valid or not, I don't care."

AS revealed that Ancelotti could be entering his final days managing Real Madrid if "Los Blancos" end the 2024/25 season without any trophies in both La Liga and the Champions League. Real's elimination in the Champions League quarter-finals, coupled with inconsistent domestic form, has put more pressure on Ancelotti than ever.

Ancelotti's contract with Real Madrid runs until June 2026, but the club's management is unhappy with his current performance. After Real Madrid were dethroned in this season's Champions League, they need good results against Barcelona in both La Liga and the Copa del Rey (the two teams will meet in the final on April 27th). Otherwise, coach Ancelotti will almost certainly be sacked by Perez.
