At age 44, Kournikova was in the middle of her pregnancy and was reportedly in stable health, with everything progressing smoothly.
This news quickly attracted attention because just a few months earlier, images of Kournikova in a wheelchair wearing orthopedic boots had caused fans to worry about her health. However, her recent appearance taking her children to martial arts classes in Miami has somewhat dispelled those rumors.
Kournikova and Iglesias, both 50, currently have three children: twins Lucy and Nicholas (7 years old) and their youngest daughter, Mary (5 years old). The couple have been together since 2001, after meeting on the set of Iglesias's music video "Escape," and have since maintained a private lifestyle, rarely sharing details of their personal lives.
While Iglesias continues to tour the globe regularly, Kournikova has been largely absent from public view. The rare sighting she made in January of this year was at the Bal Harbour shopping center in Miami, confined to a wheelchair, further fueling concerns given her tennis career has been repeatedly interrupted by back and foot injuries.

Anna Kournikova was once one of the brightest stars in world tennis, turning professional at the age of 14 and reaching world number 8 in singles. Although she didn't win any Grand Slam singles titles, she made her mark in doubles with Martina Hingis, winning two Australian Open titles (1999, 2002). Kournikova's last match was in 2003, when she was just 21 years old.
In an interview with The Guardian upon her retirement, she said: “I will only play tennis as long as I enjoy it. It’s important to understand that tennis isn’t the only thing that matters in life.”
Two decades after retiring from the court, Kournikova is now preparing to embark on her journey as a mother, happily anticipating the arrival of a new member to her small family with Enrique Iglesias.
