Along Nhu Nguyet Street, there was a considerable amount of trash. Hai Chau Ward mobilized more than 50 youth union members and young people to coordinate with the Border Guard force of Da Nang Port to assist workers of Da Nang Environmental Joint Stock Company in collecting and gathering waste for transport.
According to a representative of Da Nang Environment Joint Stock Company, the unit collects an estimated 6 tons of waste on Nhu Nguyet street alone.
"This year, the amount of trash in this area is higher than in previous years due to food vendors. We are urgently cleaning up to ensure the street is clean and beautiful again before tomorrow morning," a company representative said.
Meanwhile, along some of the roads bordering the Han River, in the spectator area, and along Tran Hung Dao Street, the amount of trash was not significant. Besides the well-placed trash bins, the organizers' and local authorities' public awareness campaigns helped residents and tourists improve their environmental hygiene awareness, creating a positive impression.
By 11:30 PM that same day, most of the streets had been cleaned up, waste transported to processing facilities, restoring a clean environment for residents and tourists.
