Dan Phuong commune focuses on resolving bottlenecks in urban order.

Since the beginning of the year, efforts to address urban order bottlenecks and traffic congestion in Dan Phuong commune have been implemented decisively and comprehensively, achieving many positive results and gradually building a civilized urban landscape.

Following the directives of Hanoi City regarding the resolution of five major bottlenecks, the People's Committee of Dan Phuong commune has issued numerous plans and directives, while also conducting a comprehensive review and assessment of urban order throughout the commune. Specifically, the commune focused on evaluating the current situation and causes of violations on main roads, densely populated areas, and areas where encroachment on roads and sidewalks for business and trading occurs. Simultaneously, the commune established an inter-agency inspection team to strengthen inspection, supervision, and handling of violations in the area.

The Dan Phuong commune police, in coordination with the commune's Economic Department, conducted inspections, issued warnings, and requested businesses and individuals violating regulations to voluntarily dismantle illegally installed structures (awnings, canopies, platforms, ramps, etc.); and to remove goods and items encroaching on the road and sidewalks, restoring the public space to its original state. Since the beginning of the year, the authorities have confiscated 144 illegally placed advertising signs.

In addition, the commune police and other functional forces organized 233 patrols; detected and handled 131 cases of violations of urban order, public order and traffic safety with a total fine of over 76 million VND. The main violations included encroaching on sidewalks for business, street vending, using mobile carts that obstruct traffic, illegal parking, etc.

The People's Committee of the commune also organized for 429 business households to sign commitments not to encroach on the road and sidewalks; and encouraged construction material yards and owners of self-made vehicles to strictly comply with regulations on traffic safety and environmental hygiene.

Thanks to decisive action, the encroachment on roads and sidewalks for business purposes along National Highway 32, Provincial Road 417, the area around Phung Market gate, and some inter-village roads in Dan Phuong commune has significantly decreased. Cases of spontaneous markets and illegal parking are gradually being brought under control. There are no prolonged traffic jams in the commune; localized congestion at school gates and local markets during peak hours has been effectively contained.

According to Nguyen Dang Thinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dan Phuong commune, although urban order in the commune has improved, the awareness of law compliance among some businesses and individuals remains limited, with some exhibiting a superficial compliance attitude, hindering the long-term maintenance of results. In addition, some areas lack sidewalks or have narrow sidewalks, affecting the effectiveness of urban management and sustainable maintenance of order, such as the section of the old National Highway 32 passing through Nguyen Thai Hoc street.

“In the coming time, the People's Committee of Dan Phuong commune will continue to direct functional agencies to strengthen patrols, control, and strictly handle violations, while promoting propaganda work, maintaining urban order, traffic safety and environmental sanitation, contributing to building Dan Phuong commune into an increasingly civilized, bright, green, clean and beautiful place,” said Comrade Nguyen Dang Thinh.
