(Dan Tri Newspaper) – The tropical depression in the East Sea maintains strong winds of level 7, gusting to level 9, causing the weather at sea to deteriorate. In particular, thunderstorms are also occurring throughout the country.
According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, at 7 PM on September 18th, the center of the tropical depression was located at approximately 16.9 degrees North latitude and 111.5 degrees East longitude, over the Hoang Sa archipelago, about 360km east-northeast of Da Nang .
The strongest winds near the center of the tropical depression are at level 7 (50-61 km/h), with gusts up to level 9; it is moving mainly westward at a speed of about 20 km/h.
By 7:00 AM on September 19th, the tropical depression had intensified into a storm, located approximately 190km east of Quang Tri and about 100km northeast of Da Nang. The storm's center experienced strong winds of force 8 (62-74km/h), with gusts up to force 10; it was moving westward at a speed of approximately 20-25km per hour.
Due to the impact of the tropical depression (which later intensified into a storm), the western sea area of the North East Sea (including the Hoang Sa archipelago), and the sea area from Nghe An to Quang Ngai (including Ly Son island district, Cu Lao Cham, Con Co, and Hon Ngu islands) will experience strong winds of force 6-7, waves 2-4m high, and near the storm's center winds of force 8 (62-74km/h), gusts up to force 10 (89-102km/h), waves 3-5m high, and rough seas.
Vessels operating in the aforementioned hazardous areas are susceptible to the effects of thunderstorms, tornadoes, strong winds, and high waves.

From the night of September 18th to the night of September 20th, the area from Ha Tinh to Quang Nam experienced heavy to very heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, with rainfall amounts generally ranging from 100-300mm, and exceeding 500mm in some places.
During the same period, the areas of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Quang Ngai experienced moderate to heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain, with rainfall amounts generally ranging from 80-170mm, and some areas exceeding 300mm.
The Central Highlands and Southern regions will experience moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain, with rainfall amounts generally ranging from 20-50mm, and some areas exceeding 70mm (rain concentrated in the afternoon and night).
Additionally, during the day and night of September 19th, the Northern Delta and South Central regions will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing heavy rain with rainfall amounts ranging from 10 to 30mm, and some areas exceeding 70mm (rain concentrated in the afternoon and night).
During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind.
Heavy rainfall and localized heavy rain are likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods on small rivers and streams, and landslides on slopes.
