At 13:00 today, May 28th, a low-pressure trough with its axis at approximately 10-13 degrees North latitude is connected to a low-pressure area located at approximately 11.0-13.0 degrees North latitude and 111.0-113.0 degrees East longitude. The sea areas from Binh Dinh to Khanh Hoa , the northern part of the East Sea (including the waters around the Hoang Sa archipelago), and the central and southern parts of the East Sea (including the waters around the Truong Sa archipelago) will experience showers and thunderstorms.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, tonight and on May 29th, the Gulf of Tonkin, the sea area from Binh Dinh to Ca Mau , Ca Mau to Kien Giang, the Gulf of Thailand, the northern East Sea (including the Hoang Sa archipelago), and the central and southern East Sea (including the Truong Sa archipelago) will experience showers and thunderstorms.

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind, and waves exceeding 2 meters. All vessels operating in these areas are at risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.

To proactively respond to the low-pressure system over the East Sea, on the afternoon of May 28th, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment issued a document requesting coastal provinces from Binh Dinh to Ninh Thuan to closely monitor warning and forecast bulletins and the development of the low-pressure system; inform captains and owners of vessels operating at sea to proactively take preventive measures, ensuring the safety of people and property; and maintain communication to promptly handle any adverse situations that may occur.

The provinces are ready with personnel and resources to deploy rescue and relief efforts when necessary.

Regarding weather on land, the Meteorological and Hydrological Agency forecasts that from the night of May 28th to the early morning of May 30th, the Northern region will experience moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain, with rainfall amounts generally ranging from 40-100mm, and some areas exceeding 250mm.

From early morning on May 29th to early morning on May 30th, the North Central region experienced moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain. The rainfall amount was generally 30-70mm, with some areas exceeding 120mm.

From the evening of May 28th to the night of May 29th, moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in the South Central region, Central Highlands, and Southern Vietnam, with localized areas experiencing very heavy rainfall. Rainfall amounts will generally range from 30-60mm, with some areas receiving over 100mm (heavy rain will be concentrated in the afternoon and evening).

Warning of the risk of localized heavy rainfall (>150mm/3h). During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.
