According to Gizmochina , before the release of iOS 16 and iPadOS 16, users could only add a maximum of 16 devices to the Find My app. Now, that number has doubled as Apple allows users to add up to 32 devices.
Apple quietly mentioned the new upgrade in its Find My support documentation.
The update limits now apply to a wider range of devices than before, including AirTags, Apple headphones (including some Beats models), the new MagSafe wallet, and even third-party Find My network accessories like electric bikes.
This increase in tracking limits could address concerns from some users who quickly reached the previous 16-device limit, especially with the advent of AirTags and the expansion of the Find My network to third-party devices.
Adding new devices to Find My remains straightforward. For example, to add an AirTag, users simply bring it close to their iPhone, tap the pop-up window, choose a name, and register that name using their Apple ID.
The increased number of supported devices on Find My is reflected in Apple's support documentation but has not been officially announced. However, this is a welcome change for users who rely on the Find My network to track their belongings. It offers greater flexibility and peace of mind knowing that many of their important items can be easily found if lost.
