On April 30th, Apple announced its second-quarter 2026 financial results, reporting revenue of $111.2 billion , a 17% increase year-over-year and the highest ever for a quarter ending in March. Net profit reached $29.6 billion , or $2.01 per share. Both figures exceeded analysts' expectations.
Apple also announced a new $100 billion share buyback program and increased its dividend to $0.27 per share.
"Today, Apple is proud to announce its best March quarter in history with revenue of $111.2 billion and double-digit growth across all segments. iPhones achieved record March sales, driven by extraordinary demand for the iPhone 17 series," CEO Tim Cook stated.
The iPhone remains the biggest contributor to Apple's product ecosystem. CFO Kevan Parekh stated that supply constraints are the primary reason why the iPhone hasn't fully capitalized on the increased demand. The A19 and A19 Pro chips, manufactured by TSMC using a 3nm process, are limited due to prioritizing AI chip production, leaving Apple with insufficient supply to meet demand.
"Demand for iPhones far exceeds supply. If there were no supply issues, revenue would be even higher," Cook added.
The services segment continued to reach new highs with revenue of $30.98 billion , exceeding estimates of $30.39 billion . Sales of Macs, iPads, and wearables all surpassed analysts' expectations.
Growth was consistent across all markets. Apple's CEO said the company recorded double-digit growth in regions around the world , including China, which had been a major concern for investors in recent quarters. Retail store foot traffic reached record highs in the last three months.
Regarding the outlook for the next quarter, Apple forecasts that third-quarter revenue in fiscal year 2026 could increase by 14-17% compared to the same period last year. However, the iPhone manufacturer notes that this forecast is based on the assumption that global tariffs remain unchanged.
Additionally, Tim Cook also addressed the global memory chip crisis, stating that the situation shows no signs of improvement in the short term.
