Arsenal are giving up on the Premier League to focus on the Champions League.

While Liverpool are starting to show signs of inconsistency, Arsenal are repeatedly shooting themselves in the foot in the Premier League title race this season. A second consecutive draw leaves the gap between the Gunners and the Reds at 10 points. Furthermore, the North London side have played one more game.

Liverpool have a great opportunity to clinch the championship four rounds early, thus forcing Chelsea and Arsenal to line up to welcome the new champions in rounds 35 and 36 respectively.

In the match against Brentford, manager Mikel Arteta decided to rotate the squad to conserve energy for the crucial UEFA Champions League clash against Real Madrid. Despite a slow start, the home side still created significant chances in the first half.

Ethan Nwaneri, a promising young talent given a starting opportunity, made his mark with creative passes, while Thomas Partey and Leandro Trossard had dangerous shots but were both thwarted by goalkeeper Mark Flekken or Brentford defenders.

In the second half, Arsenal pressed their opponents strongly and quickly took the lead in the 60th minute. The goal came from a quick clearance by David Raya, the ball reached Declan Rice before he assisted Thomas Partey. This was the Ghanaian midfielder's first Premier League goal of the season, and a well-deserved reward for Arsenal's efforts to control the game.

However, Brentford were not easily defeated. The visitors fought back and were rewarded in the 74th minute when Kristoffer Ajer headed the ball back after a corner kick, setting up Yoane Wissa to score the equalizer from close range. Wissa's improvised shot left goalkeeper Raya completely helpless.

Towards the end of the match, Arsenal launched a full-scale attack in search of a decisive goal. Bukayo Saka nearly became the hero when he had a chance to shoot from inside the penalty area in injury time, but his shot narrowly missed the target.
