The AWS Generative AI Accelerator program will be adding 80 early-stage startups worldwide that are using generative AI to solve complex problems.
This commitment will provide startups, especially early-stage companies, with AWS credits, coaching, and training to continue utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies.
Part of this new commitment includes providing companies participating in the second round of the AWS Generative AI Accelerator program with practical expertise, and granting up to $1 million in AWS credits to each of the top 80 early-stage startups using generative AI to solve complex problems. Applications for the AWS Generative AI Accelerator program are open from today until July 19th.
Matt Wood, Vice President of Artificial Intelligence Products at AWS, stated that over the past 18 years, AWS has supported more startups in forming, launching, and scaling their businesses than any other cloud provider. It's no coincidence that 96% of AI/ML unicorn startups operate on AWS.
"Under this new commitment, we will help startups grow and scale into world-class businesses, providing them with what they need to create new AI applications that can impact every aspect of how the world learns, connects, and operates," said Matt Wood.
Interested startups can use AWS credits to access AWS computing, storage, and database technologies, as well as AWS Trainium and AWSInferentia2, energy-efficient AI chips that deliver high performance at the lowest cost.
These credits can also be used on Amazon SageMaker, a comprehensively managed service designed to help companies build and train their own foundational models (FMs), as well as access models and tools to easily and securely develop generative AI applications through Amazon Bedrock.
The AWS Generative AI Accelerator program identifies top early-stage startups that are using generative AI to solve complex problems in sectors such as financial services, healthcare and life sciences, media and entertainment, business, and climate change. Participating companies will have access to training sessions on ML performance enhancement, technology optimization, and market access strategies.
This 10-week program will connect participating companies with specialized business and engineering coaching experts. Each listed startup will receive up to $1 million in AWS credit to help them build, train, test, and launch innovative AI solutions.
They will also have access to industry and technology experts and technical exchange sessions from NVIDIA, the program's presenting partner, and will be invited to participate in the NVIDIA Inception program, designed to support disruptive startups.
AWS will announce the list of startups selected to participate in Phase 2 of this program on September 10th of this year. The program will begin on October 1st with in-person training sessions at Amazon's Seattle facility.
All 80 participating startups will be invited to attend and showcase their solutions to potential investors, customers, partners, and AWS leaders in December at the re:Invent 2024 event in Las Vegas.
