Two consecutive heart attack patients successfully revived.

On the evening of February 6th, doctors at Military Central Hospital 108 received a 67-year-old male patient from Bac Ninh province who was admitted with severe left chest pain.

Previously, upon receiving emergency treatment at the provincial general hospital, doctors diagnosed the patient with myocardial infarction and hypotension, bradycardia, and critical condition, so they immediately transferred him to Military Central Hospital 108. There, the patient underwent emergency treatment including percutaneous coronary angiography and stent placement to restore blood flow to the coronary artery.

Two hours later, the on-call team received a 53-year-old male patient from Bac Ninh with symptoms of severe chest pain. Immediately, the on-call team performed cardiac catheterization and stent placement to widen the coronary artery.

Immediately after hemodynamic intervention, both patients were hemodynamically stable, their chest pain subsided, and their symptoms improved right on the intervention table.

Treatment of 3 cases of cerebral infarction

Subsequently, the doctors received three consecutive cases of cerebral infarction with complex lesions and locations.

The first case involved a 70-year-old male patient from Thanh Hoa province who was admitted to the hospital in the 7th hour of his illness with difficulty speaking, swallowing disorders, nausea, and rapidly declining consciousness. The stroke team was alerted and diagnosed the patient with acute ischemic stroke due to occlusion of the vertebrobasilar artery, with a predicted prognosis of rapid and severe progression.

The patient promptly underwent thrombectomy of the entire vertebral-basilar artery system and placement of a stent in the right vertebral artery. Following the intervention, the patient continued to be monitored and treated in the Stroke Department.

Next is a typical case of cerebral infarction. This patient, 84 years old (from Nam Dinh province), was admitted to the hospital with difficulty speaking, rapidly declining consciousness, and hemiplegia. The patient was diagnosed with cerebral infarction at the apex of the basilar artery. Subsequently, the patient underwent thrombectomy to restore cerebral blood flow.

The third case of cerebral infarction involved a 79-year-old male patient from Ha Nam province who was admitted to the hospital in a lethargic state with complete paralysis of the right half of his body. Doctors successfully recanalized the cerebral artery using a mechanical device. This method eliminates the need for surgery while still treating complex cerebral vascular lesions in a minimally invasive, safe, and effective manner.

According to Dr. Pham Minh Tuan, Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiology, Military Central Hospital 108, stroke and myocardial infarction are extremely dangerous diseases that can affect the lives and quality of life of patients. Prevention remains the top priority, such as effectively controlling underlying conditions: atrial fibrillation, hypertension, obesity, and dyslipidemia. Patients should immediately go to medical centers when experiencing unusual symptoms such as difficulty speaking, weakness, paralysis, altered consciousness, chest pain, etc., to receive timely diagnosis and treatment to avoid dangerous complications.

"With the extreme and erratic weather conditions we've experienced recently, which are also a risk factor for an increase in the rate of stroke and heart attack, people need to pay attention to keeping warm, avoiding sudden temperature changes; and adhering to their doctor's instructions and prescriptions," Dr. Tuan advised.
