Bac Tra My district has disbursed 21% of the funds for national target programs.

(QNO) - On the afternoon of June 10th, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan chaired an online meeting with the People's Committee of Bac Tra My district regarding the results of implementing national target programs and the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the district.

According to a report by the People's Committee of Bac Tra My district, the total planned capital for 2025 (including carried-over capital) for the implementation of three national target programs is over 391.3 billion VND. To date, 81.1 billion VND has been disbursed (21%), including 52.2 billion VND for investment capital and 28.9 billion VND for recurrent expenditure.

Notably, the capital allocated for 2022, 2023, and 2024, carried over to 2025, amounts to over 208.5 billion VND; however, Bac Tra My district has only disbursed over 60 billion VND (29%). The planned capital for 2025 is over 182.8 billion VND, of which over 156.9 billion VND has been allocated and over 21 billion VND has been disbursed.

According to Mr. Hoang Thanh Long, Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Tra My district, the locality has 3 communes that have met the standards for new rural areas; of which 2 communes, Tra Duong and Tra Dong, maintain 19 out of 19 criteria, while Tra Tan commune maintains 18 out of 19 criteria (the remaining criterion is multidimensional poverty).

Under the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction, Bac Tra My district strives to reduce the poverty rate to 18.6% by 2025 (a reduction of 7.3%), equivalent to 870 households; and the near-poverty rate to 1.3% (a reduction of 1.2%), equivalent to 148 households.

Regarding the National Target Program for socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, Bac Tra My district is currently implementing 10 projects under the program.

Regarding the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, Bac Tra My district has implemented the program for 1,485 houses out of a total of 1,559 approved by the Provincial People's Committee. Of these, 92 out of 94 temporary houses for people with meritorious service have been eliminated; 1,105 out of 1,175 houses belonging to poor and near-poor households under the two National Target Programs have been eliminated; and 288 out of 290 houses for the remaining households have been eliminated.

Mr. Hoang Thanh Long also highlighted the difficulties and obstacles in disbursing funds for national target programs; and at the same time, proposed several measures to improve the disbursement rate in the coming period.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan emphasized that the capital plan to be disbursed in Bac Tra My district is still very large, therefore it is necessary to accelerate the implementation and disbursement in accordance with the directives of the Provincial People's Committee.

With a large volume of work and documentation for projects, sub-projects, and other related matters, the province has authorized the district to hire consultants and independent auditors to complete all documentation before the district-level government ceases operations.

Regarding the work of eliminating temporary housing, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan requested Bac Tra My district to complete it before September 1, 2025, and for the group of people with meritorious services, it must be completed before July 27.
