After the merger, Hoa Dien commune covers an area of 285 km² , with 6,642 households and 23,854 inhabitants, comprising Kinh, Khmer, and Hoa ethnic groups. The commune has 13 hamlets, 119 self-governing residential groups, 4 residential areas, and 6 active religious establishments. The large area, with numerous canals, ditches, and a complex irrigation system, poses a potential risk of crime and law violations.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Le Ngoc Hieu, Deputy Head of Hoa Dien Commune Police, when the two-tiered local government system came into operation, the unit quickly stabilized its organization, ensuring no disruption to its work. At the same time, they deployed forces to closely monitor the area, strictly manage individuals, and promptly prevent, combat, and handle incidents related to social order.

In 2025, the commune police launched several intensive campaigns to combat and suppress crime, ensuring security and order. As a result, they prosecuted 4 cases involving 17 individuals for social order offenses; dismantled 4 gambling dens; and imposed administrative fines totaling 37.5 million VND on 25 individuals. Drug prevention and control efforts were strengthened, with 44 individuals tested, 27 testing positive; 24 individuals were fined 35.25 million VND; and 6 individuals were sent to compulsory drug rehabilitation.

Alongside operational measures, the Hoa Dien Commune Police, in coordination with relevant departments and organizations, maintain and effectively promote various models to ensure security and order, such as security cameras, crime-free self-governing groups, and crime-free accommodation and lodging establishments. Emphasis is also placed on raising public awareness and encouraging people to protect their property.

Lieutenant Ho Hoang An, an officer of the Security and Order Team of Hoa Dien Commune Police, said: “Our force conducts regular patrols twice a day, morning and evening, on rural roads and areas with potential risks of accidents and crime. Through these patrols, we both handle violations and educate and remind people to comply with traffic safety regulations.”

Despite challenging infrastructure conditions, the officers and soldiers of Hoa Dien Commune Police, with a spirit of serving the people, always strive to fulfill their duties, especially in handling administrative procedures for the people. At the Hoa Dien Commune Police's public service point, on the first morning of 2026, many people came to register for permanent residence, temporary residence, citizen identification cards, and electronic identification. The officers directly received and processed the applications quickly and efficiently, minimizing waiting times.

Lieutenant Vo Huu Nghia, an officer of the local police team, said that after the merger, the workload increased two to three times, with nearly 70 people coming to complete administrative procedures each day. To meet the demand, the unit has accelerated the application of digital transformation. Currently, the commune police can handle 35 types of administrative procedures at the local level. People are supported in obtaining queue numbers online, searching for procedures using QR codes, and receiving guidance and answers from officers through social media platforms. As a result, the processing time for applications is shortened, errors are minimized, and people are satisfied. Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, residing in Lung Lon hamlet, shared: “When I came to register for temporary residence, I was guided attentively by the officers, who explained everything clearly, so the procedure was resolved quickly. I am very satisfied.”

With a high sense of responsibility and the motto "staying close to the local area and grassroots level," the Hoa Dien Commune Police have effectively played a core role in maintaining security, order, and social safety in the locality. Each specific action contributes to strengthening the people's trust in the local police force. This is a crucial foundation for Hoa Dien commune to maintain stability and create a peaceful and favorable environment for socio -economic development in the new era.
