One of the technologies transforming the journalism industry is artificial intelligence (AI). With its remarkable advancements, AI has supported automated article writing, news summarization, trend identification, content optimization tailored to reader needs, video creation, podcast production, spell checking, and headline suggestions. AI can also automatically transcribe interviews, conduct big data research, and produce personalized, multi-platform news reports, allowing journalists to focus on in-depth topics and long-term investigations.

While Western journalism is increasingly utilizing AI, its application in Vietnam is still relatively slow. According to the Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, AI is not just for superficial tasks but can provide significant support to journalism.

The Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association also shared the importance of personalization in journalism. Mr. Le Quoc Minh gave an example: typically, to report on today's stock market, we write a summary article: what was the situation today; how did it go up or down, losing or gaining points...

But AI technology can help produce content tailored to specific reader groups, whether they're interested in banking stocks, steel stocks, or foreign investors... Simultaneously, AI can produce 10 or more articles on a single topic and automatically deliver them to those with relevant needs. AI will also help newsrooms expand engagement without needing to significantly increase staff.

Currently, many domestic media outlets are applying data journalism and visualization. Mr. Le Quoc Minh stated that data journalism combines big data analysis, processing, and visualization, making articles more engaging, understandable, and insightful, especially for complex social or economic issues with numerous statistics. Alongside this, blockchain is also a major trend in global journalism for content verification. Blockchain stores metadata about authorship, publication dates, increasing transparency, combating fake news, and protecting global journalistic copyrights.

Also at the forum, journalist Le Quoc Minh noted that new technologies will soon emerge, namely augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). These will immerse readers in the virtual world of articles, allowing them to experience events, battles, investigations, or reports in a virtualized real-world space. Investigative journalism, travel, education, and other fields will be strongly inspired by immersive, multi-dimensional experiences.

Meanwhile, with 3D interactive journalism and the Metaverse, newsrooms, reporters, and readers can meet, interview, hold workshops, or exchange ideas in a 3D space, creating truly interactive journalism and breaking down geographical barriers.

In his presentation, the Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association also shared many other insights related to technology in journalism, describing the modern journalistic landscape with diverse and multifaceted perspectives to help managers and journalists prepare for the future.

"If Vietnamese journalism takes the lead in exploiting new technologies, it will be able to compete and integrate, providing accurate, fair, balanced, vivid, and personalized news to serve all segments of the public," affirmed the Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association.
