Speaking at the forum, Mr. Ho An Phong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, affirmed that in the digital age, journalism is not only a channel for information and propaganda but also a force for shaping social awareness, leading trends, and spreading cultural values.

"For tourism, the press is the 'soft bridge' between the destination and the tourist, between cultural values and the market, and between the national image and the international community," Mr. Ho An Phong emphasized.

According to Mr. Ho An Phong, in recent times, media agencies have actively collaborated with the tourism industry by promoting the country's image, disseminating green tourism and community tourism models, promoting digital transformation in tourism promotion, and promptly reflecting shortcomings to improve policies.

However, he also acknowledged that current tourism communication efforts still have many limitations. Promotional content is not synchronized, the ability to tell destination stories lacks differentiation, the link between the press, businesses, and localities lacks depth, and the application of big data and digital technology is not commensurate with its potential...

Therefore, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism suggested continuing to innovate communication methods towards professionalism and multi-platform approaches; promoting the role of digital journalism, artificial intelligence, and social media in destination promotion. At the same time, strengthening linkages between management agencies, the press, businesses, and technology platforms is crucial to forming a modern and sustainable tourism communication ecosystem.

The forum received 25 papers from leaders of press agencies, media experts, tourism professionals, technology companies, digital platforms, tourism associations, localities, and businesses operating in the tourism and service sectors.

In his presentation to the forum, journalist Tran Viet Hung, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper, affirmed that conveying and disseminating information about tourism is a daily task for the press in general and Thanh Nien Newspaper in particular. This is the role of the press in promoting and developing tourism in the new era of the country.

Thanh Nien Online has a dedicated travel section, updating daily and hourly news, both domestic and international. On the Thanh Nien daily newspaper, 70% of travel articles are featured prominently on the front page. According to journalist Tran Viet Hung, these major features, with their practical and vivid stories accompanied by insightful analyses, contribute to a better understanding of Vietnam and its people for tourists. This, in turn, helps them contribute to building a brand for Vietnam as a safe, beautiful, and dynamic destination, as well as promoting green tourism.

"For Thanh Nien newspaper in particular, and perhaps for many colleagues in general, promoting tourism is not just a job, but also a passion and a source of pride for our homeland," journalist Tran Viet Hung emphasized.

At the forum, Mr. Hoang Xuan Tan, Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, stated that Quang Tri possesses significant potential for developing cultural, historical, ecological, and experiential tourism. He projected that by 2025, the province would welcome approximately 9.6 million visitors, a 16.9% increase compared to the previous year; total tourism revenue is expected to exceed 11,000 billion VND.

According to Mr. Tan, Quang Tri province has identified communication and image promotion as a key task in building a green, sustainable, and distinctive tourism brand. "The media has always been supportive, spreading the image of Quang Tri's homeland, people, and culture to domestic and international tourists," Mr. Tan said.
