Storm No. 10 causes strong winds in the Quang Ngai - Quang Tri sea area, people rush to shelters

At noon on September 28, according to a report from the Con Co Border Guard Station ( Quang Tri ), storm prevention work was basically completed by late morning of the same day. The authorities moved 9 fishing boats to high positions to anchor and tie them securely; at the same time, they coordinated to reinforce more than 20 houses, service businesses and the headquarters of the special administrative zone. The unit also prepared enough food, medicine and necessities to ensure the troops' survival for 15 days.

Since morning, the island has been experiencing heavy rain and strong winds of over level 8. The armed forces have mobilized 3 working groups with 25 officers and soldiers to directly propagate, support and mobilize people to take shelter. Some cases have been forced to evacuate to ensure absolute safety. Currently, 100% of the military is on duty, maintaining uninterrupted communication and ready to respond to emergency situations.

Speaking to Thanh Nien reporter , Mr. Tran Xuan Anh, Secretary of Con Co special zone, said: “On the island at 12 noon on September 28, there were strong winds of level 7-8, but all nearly 200 people, workers and armed forces had entered the shelter. All necessary measures have been deployed, because on the island, if an incident occurs, handling it will be more difficult than on the mainland.”
