| Mr. Nong Van Bich, head of Lang Phat hamlet, Vo Nhai commune, is discussing matters with the Forest Protection force. |
Forest Ranger Station No. 15 was established on July 1, 2025, managing the area of four communes: La Hien, Vo Nhai, Trang Xa, and Dan Tien. The unit has 12 officials, civil servants, and contract workers. To maintain close contact with the grassroots, the Station has organized three forest ranger teams in the area, and also established 108 forest management, protection, and fire prevention and control teams in hamlets and villages, along with 127 self-governing forest protection teams within the community.
The total area of forest and forestry land under management reaches 30,097 hectares, including 3,114.9 hectares of planned special-use forest land, 5,344.1 hectares of planned protection forest land, and 19,360 hectares of planned production forest land. Of this, 11,041.5 hectares are natural forest and 17,284.6 hectares are planted forest. The forest cover rate in the communes is relatively high, averaging over 60%.
In fulfilling the tasks assigned by the Provincial Forest Protection Department, Forest Protection Unit No. 15 has implemented numerous solutions for forest management, protection, and development. Forest rangers are assigned to closely monitor their assigned areas and advise the commune authorities on developing plans for forest protection and fire prevention and control.
Public awareness campaigns are conducted regularly through local public address systems, updating forest fire risk levels and advising people not to use fire when clearing vegetation during periods of high fire risk.
Mr. Trieu Tuan Linh, Deputy Head of Forest Ranger Station No. 15, said: "Right from the beginning of the dry season, the unit has directed local forest rangers to review areas of degraded natural forests, guiding forest owners, including households and communities, to develop appropriate fire prevention and control plans. Forestry law awareness campaigns are conducted directly with households, helping to raise people's sense of responsibility in protecting the forest."

In Dan Tien commune, many households managing 3-30 hectares of acacia forest have maintained a habit of regularly cleaning the forest. Mr. Bui Ngoc Chin's family, in Dong Chuoi hamlet, despite living far from the forest planting area, regularly goes into the forest to clear undergrowth and remove dry branches. According to Mr. Chin, keeping the forest open helps reduce the risk of fire during dry weather.
Village leaders also play a crucial role in disseminating information and monitoring at the grassroots level. Mr. Nong Van Bich, head of Lang Phat village, Vo Nhai commune, said: "Through training courses organized by the Forest Protection force, village officials are equipped with knowledge to disseminate to the people, contributing to the formation of a monitoring network in residential areas."
Recently, Forest Ranger Station No. 15 has focused on applying information technology in reforming administrative procedures and updating forest changes. At the same time, coordination between the Forest Rangers, the Police, the Military , and the local authorities has been maintained regularly, contributing to improved management efficiency.
Thanks to the synchronized implementation of various solutions, to date, no cases of deforestation, illegal logging, or encroachment on forest land have occurred within the area managed by Forest Ranger Station No. 15. Despite the complex weather patterns, no forest fires have been recorded. The figures on forest area and cover reflect the results of the persistent cooperation between the Forest Ranger force, local authorities, and the people in preserving the greenness of the forests.
