According to the Hue Imperial City Relics Conservation Center, the center will implement the collection of entrance fees to Hai Van Pass after the resolution of the Hue City People's Council takes effect on June 2, 2026.

According to a resolution of the Hue City People's Council, the fee is 70,000 VND per person per visit, applied uniformly to both Vietnamese citizens and foreigners.

The Hue Imperial City Relics Conservation Center is the agency responsible for collecting fees, and the collected funds are used to cover expenses related to the management, conservation, and restoration of the relics.

According to the resolution, in addition to the fee of 70,000 VND per person per visit, many groups will be exempt from or receive a reduced fee for visiting Hai Van Pass.

According to the Hue Imperial City Relics Conservation Center, the process of collecting, remitting, and managing entrance fees will be carried out in accordance with the regulations stipulated in the issued resolution.

Ticket sales and control are implemented similarly to those at historical sites such as the Nam Giao Altar and the Thieu Tri Mausoleum. Visitors will purchase electronic tickets, and an AI camera system is used to count visitors to assist in managing ticket sales and controlling entrance fees.

The management and protection of the relics are carried out according to a coordination agreement between Hue City and Da Nang City. Currently, on a rotational basis, Hue City is responsible for managing and protecting the relics for a period of 3 years, with the Hue Imperial City Relics Conservation Center as the direct managing unit. From the beginning of 2029, the management will be handed over to Da Nang City for the following 3 years.

Hai Van Pass, located atop the Hai Van mountain pass, is a national historical and architectural monument (ranked by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2017) jointly managed by Hue City and Da Nang City. The structure dates back to the Tran Dynasty and was restored by Emperor Minh Mang in 1826. It was once a crucial military position protecting the Hue capital from the south during the Nguyen Dynasty.

In 2021, Hai Van Pass received an investment of over 42 billion VND from the budgets of Hue and Da Nang for its preservation, restoration, and promotion of its historical value. Since August 2024, the site has been open to visitors free of charge.
