The 5-6 aggregate defeat over two legs made Bayern Munich the target of international media criticism, with a barrage of harsh comments directed at the German team.
L'Equipe commented that Allianz Arena is becoming "lucky ground" for PSG, where the Parisian club has repeatedly created historical milestones. Meanwhile, Le Figaro praised PSG's courageous fighting spirit, as the visiting team stood firm under immense pressure to secure a place in the final.
Spanish media also showered praise on coach Luis Enrique. Marca suggested that the Spanish strategist had once again turned Munich into a "sacred ground" for PSG. AS even called PSG the "Bestia Negra," the true nemesis of Bayern Munich.
Conversely, many British and German newspapers criticized the home team's performance. The Guardian stated that Bayern were "completely neutralized" by PSG, while The Sun described the Bundesliga representatives as "playing in a state of chaos".
Some German newspapers, such as Blick and Kronen Zeitung , emphasized the "handball tragedy," arguing that Bayern deserved a penalty in the first half. However, the referee refused after determining that PSG midfielder Joao Neves had handled the ball during a teammate's clearance.
Having defeated Bayern, PSG will head to the final against Mikel Arteta's Arsenal in Budapest on May 30th. European football is awaiting a high-stakes battle of wits between the two Spanish coaches.
