Thanh Hoa Border Guard: "Three close ties, four shared experiences" with the people.

Building a "people's defense posture," relying on the people to protect the border and maritime areas; creating a solid foundation to contribute to the successful implementation of the cause of building and protecting national territorial sovereignty and border security... these are the activities of the border guards of Thanh Hoa province.

Colonel Hoang Van Hung, Political Commissar of the Thanh Hoa Border Guard Command, stated: “The Thanh Hoa Border Guard Command directs its units to regularly deploy personnel to the area, closely coordinating with local Party committees, authorities, and functional forces to build and strengthen the grassroots political system in border areas. Along with that, we effectively organize models to help people eradicate hunger and reduce poverty. From there, we effectively promote mass mobilization work, maintain people's trust, and encourage people to comply with the policies and guidelines of the Party, State, and local authorities, working together to protect border and maritime sovereignty.”

Officers and soldiers of the Muong Min Border Guard Station, along with local people, patrol, monitor, and protect the border and border markers.

Implementing the motto "3 close ties, 4 together" (close ties with the unit, close ties with the locality, close ties with the guidelines and policies; eating together, living together, working together, and speaking the language of the local people), the Thanh Hoa Border Guard has actively and proactively advised and coordinated with the Party committees and authorities of border areas to promote propaganda and mobilization of the people to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws; launched and organized movements; carried out rescue and relief work, helping people overcome the consequences of natural disasters; built and strengthened a comprehensive and robust grassroots political system; and implemented plans to ensure security and order and effectively combat all types of crime.

Furthermore, the Provincial Border Guard Command has effectively implemented programs and projects on socio -economic development and poverty reduction in border and coastal areas with many innovative movements, models, and approaches that have spread widely among the people, such as: the "Border Guard Command joins hands in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas" movement, the "Border Guard Command joins hands for the poor - Leaving no one behind" program; the "Helping children go to school - Adopted children of border guard posts" program... Through these practical actions, it has awakened and unleashed immense strength, attracting a large number of people to participate, contributing to consolidating the "people's support" in the border and coastal areas of the province.

Thanh Hoa province has a 213.6km long land border with Hua Phan province (Laos), with 88 border markers and over 92 border marker locations. Along with the Border Guard Force, in recent years, ethnic minority communities in the mountainous and border areas have voluntarily protected and guarded the border markers, thereby making a significant contribution to maintaining political stability, ensuring security and order, creating a favorable environment for socio-economic development, and contributing to poverty reduction and the construction of new rural areas in the border region of Thanh Hoa.
