On the morning of March 15, Doctor Nguyen Thanh Xuan, deputy director of Hue Central Hospital, said that Hue Central Hospital facility 3 (Phong Dien district) had just received emergency treatment for a case of dog bite.
Accordingly, a little girl in Le Thuy district (Quang Binh province) was playing with a neighbor's puppies when she was suddenly attacked by her mother dog.
The little girl was bitten by a dog many times on her arms and face and bled profusely. Family members used medical alcohol to clean the child's wound and took him to the hospital.
The baby was taken to Hue Central Hospital, facility 2 and doctors here performed emergency treatment, stitching nearly 50 stitches into open wounds on his body.
Doctors also injected the child with anti-tetanus serum and took him to the Thua Thien Hue Disease Control Center for rabies vaccination.
Currently, the baby is still being treated at Hue Central Hospital facility 2 with stable health condition.
Doctor Xuan warns parents to pay more attention to their children when playing with animals, especially dogs and cats, because this seasonal weather is very suitable for rabies outbreaks.
