With the theme “Fly in Dreams, See You Again”, the Closing Ceremony of the 4th Asian Para Games was filled with color and sound, introducing the unique cultural features of China, wonderful memories of Hangzhou, unforgettable memories and affirming that Asia - we are one family.

The flame of the 4th Asian Para Games was extinguished as the image of “the first Chinese boat” floated across the stage. The boat was recreated based on the archaeological remains of an 8,000-year-old boat that also represents Chinese civilization.

The flag to host the 5th Asian Para Games in 2026 was handed over by the host country's Organizing Committee to the Deputy Mayor of Aichi-Nagoya City (Japan), representing the city hosting the next congress in 3 years.

The closing ceremony continues to be an opportunity to introduce the unique cultural features of host China.

Through images of Hangzhou’s famous culture and specialties, the Closing Ceremony of the 4th Asian Para Games has become an unforgettable memory for the participants of the Games. This is not only the largest sports event for the disabled in Asia but also a major cultural event for Hangzhou city, Hangzhou people in particular and the Asian sports community in general.

The 4th Asian Para Games had about 3,100 athletes from 44 countries and territories competing, including about 1,100 athletes using wheelchairs and about 600 visually impaired athletes. At the end of the exciting competition days, 33/44 delegations won medals, of which the host China took first place with 214 gold medals, 167 silver medals and 140 bronze medals, followed by Iran (44 gold medals, 46 silver medals, 41 bronze medals), and Japan (42 gold medals, 49 silver medals, 59 bronze medals).

Vietnam Paralympic Sports Delegation ends exciting days of competition at Asian Para Games 4

The Vietnam Disabled Sports Delegation participated in the 4th Asian Para Games with 71 members, including 48 athletes (including 1 runner), competing in 7 sports, including athletics (10 athletes), swimming with 9 athletes, weightlifting with 4 athletes, chess with 12 athletes, table tennis with 6 athletes, badminton with 5 athletes and Taekwondo with 1 athlete, striving to win 3 to 4 gold medals as well as having athletes meet the standards to qualify for the 2024 Paris Paralympics. In the final results, the Vietnam Disabled Sports Delegation won a total of 20 medals, including 1 gold medal, 10 silver medals and 9 bronze medals, ranking 22nd on the overall rankings.
