Closing of the 14th National Congress of the Party

At 2 PM this afternoon, January 23rd, the 14th National Congress of the Party concluded after 5 days of work.

This morning, January 23rd, the 14th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam held its first meeting to elect the General Secretary, the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Central Inspection Committee , and the Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee.

The Congress voted to approve the list of 200 members of the 14th Central Committee.

The results of the first Central Committee meeting of the 14th Party Congress will also be announced before the congress at the closing session.

Immediately after the closing session of the 14th National Congress, at the Press Center of the 14th National Congress (National Convention Center, Hanoi ), the General Secretary of the 14th Central Committee of the Party will preside over an international press conference to announce the results of the 14th National Congress of the Party.

The 14th National Congress of the Party took place from January 19-23. Yesterday, January 22, the 14th National Congress voted to elect and approve the list of 200 members elected to the 14th Central Committee of the Party. This includes 180 full members and 20 alternate members.

The list of elected members of the 14th Central Committee includes 10 members of the 13th Politburo . Among them are three key leaders of the Party and State: General Secretary To Lam, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, and Standing Member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu.

Seven members of the 13th Politburo were re-elected as members of the 14th Central Committee of the Party, including: Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Le Minh Hung, Secretary of the Central Committee and Head of the Central Organization Department; General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense; Luong Tam Quang, General and Minister of Public Security; Nguyen Trong Nghia, General and Head of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army; Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee; and Do Van Chien, Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly.
