The Thien Dang stage also received the "Outstanding Music" award, which went to composer Cao Minh Thu, and two individual silver medals.
On the evening of November 29th, the closing ceremony of the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Theatre Festival 2024 took place at the Ho Chi Minh City Theatre, with the participation of numerous delegates and artists, including directors and actors from various art units in Ho Chi Minh City.

The 1st Ho Chi Minh City Theatre Festival - 2024, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports in collaboration with the Vietnam Theatre Artists Association, the Ho Chi Minh City Theatre Association, and other related units, will take place from November 12 to 29.
The festival features 24 plays by 19 art troupes performed over more than 15 days, along with many other activities such as: a dialogue space "Plays and the Public"; an exhibition of photographs showcasing the activities of public and private art troupes...

People's Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports and Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, said: "One of the unique aspects of the Festival is that the participating units do not perform together at one location as is customary, but the Art Council will visit the stage of each unit to observe and evaluate."
This gives participating groups more advantages as they can perform on their home turf, where they have familiar scenery, sound, lighting, and space, as well as greater control over organization, staging, and performance.
For participating units without a fixed venue, the Organizing Committee will provide a competition venue with technical conditions that meet performance standards.
With the theme "Southern Aspirations," the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Theatre Festival - 2024 became a special event in the context of the developing national cultural industry. The Theatre Festival affirmed the true values of spoken theatre art and the traditional values of the nation. This activity also aimed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
Author Ngoc Truc received the award for outstanding author and director Quoc Thao received the gold medal for the play "The Fiery Field".

BTC awarded 5 gold medals to 5 outstanding plays, including: "Giáng Hương" (Thiên Đăng Stage); "The Fiery Field" (Quốc Thảo Drama Stage); "Comrade" (Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association); "The Last Delusion" (Hoàng Thái Thanh Drama Stage); and "Duke Lê Văn Duyệt - The Man Who Carried 9 Death Sentences" (IDECAF Drama Theater).
The 6 Silver Medals were awarded to 6 plays: "Aspiration for Peace " (City Drama Theatre); "Sweet Strawberry" (Truong Hung Minh Art Theatre); "Pure White Flower Petals" (New Impression Media and Entertainment Co., Ltd.); "Broken Thread" (Hong Van Drama Theatre); "That Day at the Gate of Heaven" (Trinh Kim Chi Drama Theatre); and "Mistake in Love" (Saigon Flat Advertising and Media Services Joint Stock Company).
The Organizing Committee awarded 28 gold medals and 41 silver medals to outstanding individuals and actors in the performances, including famous artists such as Thanh Loc, Doan Minh Tai, Thanh Hoi, Tuyet Thu, Huu Chau, Minh Du, Cat Phuong, Chanh Truc...
Additionally, there were awards for creative elements such as: Outstanding Music (Nguyen Huu Thu, stage name Cao Minh Thu - the play "Giang Huong"); Outstanding Author (Ngoc Truc of the play "The Fiery Field"); Outstanding Art Design (Tran Thi Lua - the play "That Day at the Heavenly Gate"); Outstanding Lighting Design (Meritorious Artist Thien My of the play "That Day at the Heavenly Gate"); Unit with the most impressive promotional communication (Hong Van Theatre - the play "The Crane's Wing"); Play with a children's theme (Thien Dang Theatre - the play "Colora - The Land of Brilliance").
