The 2023 National Tourism Year, themed "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence," featured hundreds of events and activities, including 34 unique and attractive cultural, sports, and tourism activities organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Binh Thuan province; 35 supporting activities organized by localities within the province; and over 160 cultural, sports, and tourism events and activities in response to the 2023 National Tourism Year, organized by 41 provinces and centrally-governed cities, all of which were very successful.
The closing night will take place in the heart of Phan Thiet City, specifically at Ocean Dunes in Phu Thuy Ward. This is a plus point as it will be more convenient for residents to watch the show, which features the most elaborate performances.
The show opens with a technologically advanced lighting system programmed to the rhythm of the music, creating the effect of floating in mid-air, combined with laser effects to highlight the positions of the performers on the central stage and also reveal the spatial design elements set up on the sea.
Over the past few days, the construction team has been busy assembling the stage at the main and auxiliary stages, preparing for the closing ceremony to ensure that locals and tourists are not disappointed. According to the script and program content for the Closing Ceremony of the 2023 National Tourism Year “ Binh Thuan – Green Convergence” developed by the organizing unit, the ceremony will have three parts. Each part will help the audience understand more about this gentle and hospitable land: Specifically, Part 1 focuses on praising the achievements and beauty of Binh Thuan with special performances such as a stage designed to resemble the bow of a ship, inspired by multi-dimensional spaces connecting everything in the digital transformation process, a space arranged according to the model of Binh Thuan's marine economic development, and a water music performance…
Besides the light show: "Green Convergence - Radiant Light," the programs emphasize local culture, combining traditional and contemporary music and performing suites and songs such as "Binh Thuan: Flows of Culture," "Life at Sea - Life of Fishermen," and everyday local cultural aspects, so that even those far away will always remember this land, and love Vietnam and Binh Thuan even more.
At the central stage, hundreds of actors and artists, along with props and fishing gear, combined with a programmed lighting system, created the atmosphere of a traditional fishing village within a unique festival setting. This created a distinct imprint of the South Central coastal region, with musical instruments made from bamboo tubes, fish sauce barrels, oars, etc., producing resonant sounds that harmonized with lively dances, closely reflecting everyday life.
A group of folk artists performing the "hò bà trạo" folk singing style, in collaboration with professional artists, perform on a stage that moves towards a performance space on the sea. This performance space on the sea connects with the onshore space, where a group of actors and professional artists perform on a central stage on the beach. The interactive, synchronized performance creates a story about the life of fishermen in Binh Thuan.
Finally, the performance features mapping technology, showcasing images of Vietnam's tourist attractions through interactive multi-visual art. The water fountain show combines video mapping technology with a water screen, along with lighting and laser displays (based on Singaporean technology). Following this is a water screen performance incorporating video mapping technology, telling the story of the beauty, culture, labor, and people of Binh Thuan.
Finally, the program, themed "Aspiration to Shine in the East Sea," will feature many creative, novel, yet relatable performances. For example, the group of artists showcasing five types of costumes representing workers, farmers, soldiers, intellectuals, and artists in Chapter 3 will portray the optimistic and youthful spirit of the region, which has been blessed with many advantages by nature. Notably, the closing ceremony will feature singer My Tam and over 250 performers. My Tam's appearance will be a highlight, attracting attention with the talent of a top-tier star in Vietnamese showbiz. All of this will convey a message of "Aspiration to Shine in the East Sea" as a tribute and a call for collective effort towards development.
More specifically, the 10-minute fireworks display will be the most anticipated part. The organizers also stated that, to ensure the smooth running of the program, they have provided other necessary areas such as areas for dignitaries, the public, and tourists; a medical area; a rescue area; a fire prevention and fighting area; and an area for the press…
The National Tourism Year “Binh Thuan - Green Convergence” concludes with the idea that Binh Thuan is an integral part of the nation. Joining hands to develop Binh Thuan is contributing to building the nation. Over hundreds of years, this place has become known to many through its landmarks and fields that contribute to the pride of Vietnam.
