
According to statistics, Thanh Hoa province discovers between 6,000 and 7,000 new cancer patients each year.
The Provincial Oncology Hospital was established in June 2017 to meet the needs of cancer patients for care and treatment.
Along with advising the province to prioritize investment in modern facilities and equipment, Thanh Hoa Provincial Oncology Hospital always focuses on training and developing medical personnel, constantly improving their professional skills and capabilities to meet the requirements of healthcare for the people, especially in providing specialized treatment for cancer patients in the area.
From its humble beginnings with an initial capacity of 200 beds and 78 staff members, after 9 years of development and growth, Thanh Hoa Oncology Hospital now has over 600 staff members, including many highly qualified doctors with PhDs, Specialists Level II, and Master's degrees.
Located on an area of over 8 hectares, with a spacious and modern architecture, and equipped with many advanced devices such as SPECT/CT, 128-slice CT, 1.5 Tesla MRI, molecular biology system, DSA…, Thanh Hoa Oncology Hospital treats an average of 750-800 inpatients daily, and at times treats more than 1,000 patients.
The hospital is currently performing over 8,000 technical services, including many advanced techniques equivalent to those at central-level hospitals, such as laparoscopic liver resection, gastrectomy, colorectal surgery, bladder surgery, and thyroid surgery.
In particular, the newly invested hospital has officially put into operation a modern linear accelerator radiotherapy system, marking an important step forward in cancer treatment and contributing to bringing the hospital's treatment capacity closer to that of central-level facilities.

At the ceremony, the leaders of Thanh Hoa province presented the decision recognizing Thanh Hoa Provincial Oncology Hospital as a Grade I standard hospital.
Being recognized as a Class I standard hospital is a significant milestone for Thanh Hoa Provincial Oncology Hospital on its path to developing specialized healthcare in Thanh Hoa province in general and the Provincial Oncology Hospital in particular.
Also from May 6th, the hospital officially put its radiotherapy system into operation, serving 50% of patients in Thanh Hoa who are indicated for radiotherapy, contributing to reducing the burden on central-level hospitals, minimizing costs, and opening up great opportunities and hope for patients.
