Why did Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu spend money to buy hundreds of supercars and then store them?
The "coffee king's" billion-dollar car collection mainly comes from brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Rolls Royce, Ferrari, Porsche... Some notable models include Porsche 911, Porsche 918 Spyder, Bugatti Veyron, McLaren Senna, Ford GT...
You may not know, Mr. Vu was the first person to buy the Porsche 911 Sport Classic 2023. After that, this businessman continuously bought many classic cars such as Porsche 944, Toyota Corona, Toyota Corolla, Nissan Datsun 280ZX.
However, after receiving the cars, Mr. Vu soon put them all in storage. Whether they were rare supercars or unique classic cars, they were ignored for decades as usual. During that time, Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu still spent a huge amount of money to maintain them, but rarely touched them. Occasionally, they would be taken out to "dust off" by appearing in events gathering famous models and beauties of showbiz, to promote "Journey from the Heart".
Many people believe that this is the way for the Trung Nguyen boss to promote himself and the group. But there are also people who think that it is simply the hobby of the rich and their incomprehensible way of spending money. But perhaps everyone is wrong, the real reason is certainly surprising to everyone, revealed by Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu himself.
In an interview, Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu said that for him, cars are liabilities, not assets. The “coffee king” himself cannot remember how many cars he has bought.
“ I bought it just like that, I didn’t even look at it. For the past 10 years, I just left it there, not looking at it, ” the head of Trung Nguyen shared.
The reason Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu bought so many supercars is because he plans to auction them in the future to help young people start businesses. Mr. Vu believes that his supercar collection will bring in a significant amount of money to serve this plan.
Currently, Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu has 2 garages for supercars. One of his supercars is located in M'Drak district, Dak Lak, built very simply with a corrugated iron roof and cement floor. It is located in the 600-hectare farm of the "coffee king". The other garage is at his private house in Ho Chi Minh City but is much smaller, only able to hold a few cars, so the rest are often left "exposed to the rain and sun" in the yard.
