Vietnam-Brazil Strategic Partnership

Vietnam and Brazil officially established diplomatic relations on May 8, 1989. More than 35 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Vietnam-Brazil relations have been continuously strengthened and developed.

At the invitation of President of the Federative Republic of Brazil Lula da Silva, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife will lead a high-level delegation to attend the 2025 BRICS Summit and bilateral activities in the Federative Republic of Brazil from July 4 to 8, 2025.

Vietnam and Brazil officially established diplomatic relations on May 8, 1989. Over the past 35 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Vietnam-Brazil relations have been continuously strengthened and developed. In order to effectively implement bilateral cooperation, the two countries upgraded their relations to a comprehensive partnership in 2007.

On November 18, 2024, after talks between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in Rio de Janeiro on the occasion of the G20 Summit, the two sides issued a Joint Statement upgrading their relationship to a strategic partnership./.
